Did you see the comment "all I see is LSU LSU LSU. We do not got any respect etc etc" Does this idiot know that most of the talking heads are predicting bama to win? And I like the other comment that stated the game will be over after the first quarter. Hey moron, both teams are second half teams. Overconfidence is a dangerous thing, just ask Oregon.
Alabama have put pressure on the QB all year without a lot of blitz. That is why are rush defense has been so outstanding. When we have turned them loose, folks have been losing QBs. Count Arky's receiving core one more time. Both Alabama and LSU have faced multi dimensional attacks with special players all year.
If you look at the history of a typical schedule of a SEC team, before all these patty cake rent a wins, nothing could be farther from your statement. A typical 70's schedule was filled with thrills and spills. In 1978, a national championship year for the Tide: Nebraska - B'ham. Missouri - Columbus USC - B'ham. (the real USC) Vandy - Tusc. Washington - Seattle Florida - Tusc. Tennessee - Knoxville Virginia Tech - Tusc. Miss St. - B'ham. LSU - B'ham. Auburn - B'ham. Penn St. - Sugar Bowl and NC game That is why at Alabama, the "good ole days," was and is the "good ole days."
We got another winner here ... # 3:thumb: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MyafZmZjSOY]Retarded running elephant - YouTube[/ame]
We are talking about the 1978 season where the Ellie Funts split a national championship with USuCk (after the Condoms spanked Gumpl beee-hind 24-14 in Birmingham) and dealt with opponents boasting a combined 69-55-1 (.556) record that included such powerhouses as Vandy (2-9), Florida (4-7), Tennessee (5-6) and Virginia Tech (4-7)?

They were talking about this tonight on BCS countdown. LSU's offense is so dangerous from all aspects that it is practically impossible to defend it completely. According to them .. Bama will not be able to cover RR, Shep and OBD. .. they gave a nod to AR's WR's but also noted that AR's line couldn't hold back a bunch of 5 yr olds, let alone the Bama front .. thus the "potential" plays never got a chance to develop. ... ++ there is the obvious ... AR ain't got no running game. ... er .. or didn't at the time. DJ is getting his feet back though. LSU's front line is nothing like AR's. And with Lee's quick release and experience in reading, our pass game is a real threat. I don't think Bama stuffs our run game either. Ware and Hilliard are nothing like the little wimpy speedsters of FL, who've been the only real run threat they've faced. Bama and LSU's run games are carbon copies of each other. POWER! Albeit, Richardson is a better all purpose back than Ware or Hilliard, W & H are moe specialized to power, and don't even try to break for the long run. They get their 3-9 and are done. Heck .. Ware goes looking for someone to run over! LSU has a tad more experience facing better run games. The Average Rushing yrds/game of LSU's opponents is 172 yrds/game ... Bama's opponents averaged only 130 yrds/game. Bama .. on the otherhand, allows a lower % of expected yrds/game against their opponents than LSU, but you have to consider the lack of talent they are playing. Still I'll give the edge to Bama ... as they held TN to 92 yrds rushing, while LSU held them to 111. But really, how much difference does 19 yrds make in a game??
We have also continually allowed most of our opponents to essentially double their offensive output late in the game on one or two garbage drives. I don't like that we do it, but I understand why.
