After missing this game, Honey Badger, B'Ware and Simon will be chomping at the bit and hungry to make huge impacts... Don't think this bodes well for Bamas offense. Also, what a sick backfield would Hilliard and Ware be together? Two big, nasty bruisers in the same backfield, Saban might have nightmares.
IIRC, he also said our program would have Less Smiles, because of who we hired as our coach. Bama is a great team and may even be better than us in a few areas (LB for one). But nobody has tested them yet. We are battle tested. I just have a feeling that we are going to win this game. (Wouldn't it be another chapter in the amazing JL story if he threw a TD pass in OT to beat them; after throwing the pick in '09?)
Even if they were all true, it doesn't mean Bama is better than LSU. Game is in T-Town. Nice homefield advantage for you guys, but LSU knows how to play on the road. The only question is how much home cooking you get from the refs... Is Trent Richardson the best player in CFB? No. Top 5 but not #1. Andrew Luck by a long shot. Even if he was, he doesn't single-handedly change game outcomes like a Cam Newton. Is Bama's OL better? Perhaps, but comparing the same unit across teams is useless. What matters is Bama's OL vs our DL and vice-versa. Is Bama's Defense better? Depends on the offense they are playing, IMO. I would say Bama has a better defense than LSU vs a north-south old school offense, while LSU is better vs a spread offense. Again though, our defenses don't play each other so it doesn't matter. Is Upshaw the best Outside LB? I don't care. We have the best CB in the nation, but they don't determine the outcome of the game. Best Safety duo? Why does this person insist on mentioning things that don't matter... Saban a better coach? Finally, at least something that could actually matter... if it was true. We'll find out in 2 weeks. LSU's overrated based on schedule? Sure, plenty of the teams we've beaten weren't great, but it's not like Bama has done anything more impressive. Bama most talented & disciplined? Based on media-anointed "star" players? Sure, Bama can claim most talented. We've got less guys with media-acclaim, but just as good and way deeper. LSU has 52 penalties for 428 yards, while Bama has 27 for 236 yards - so I'll go ahead and give them disciplined, which definitely could matter. Miles eats grass & LSU players smoke it. Bama is in no place to talk, as their freshman RB was just arrested with marijuana possession.
TOP 10 Reasons LSU will beat Bama 10. Game changing swagger. We gots it, they don't. 9. LSU has the #1 CB in CFB. 8. LSU has the best Defensive Backfield in CFB. 7. LSU has the fastest defense in the country. 6. LSU is the DEEPEST team in the country. 5. Richardson hasn't faced a good DL yet. 4. Bama's QB hasn't had to face a Defense that forced him to make tough decisions or throws. 3. LSU's offense has leadership from TWO Sr QB's. 2. LSU's special teams are superior & we will win the field position battle. 1. LSU KNOWS HOW TO HANDLE ADVERSITY.
If Alabama wins...chances are the #1 reason will be the usual BS calls received by Alabama and Auburn when playing at Bryant-Denny or Jordan-Hare. Time to make it 9 of 12. Question: Since Alabama is bowl eligible have they already met their requirement to consider their team national champions? I'm guessing they could lose to LSU...then lose to LSU again for the BCS title...yet still claim to be national champions. :dis: I guess when you're not accustomed to winning anything else you feel the need to fabricate titles.
If LSU can't overcome a few bad calls then they didn't deserve to win anyway. I can promise you if a team is playing so bad that one bad call is the difference then far more was going wrong than just the refs.
I don't know ... now in the age of instant replay .. the bama refs are going to have to call it more straight .... as any B.S. call they make will be reviewed and reversed.
