Can someone explain to me why we have yet to offer a scholarship to this guy??

Rivals lists him as a 4-star cornerback at 6-2, 175 lbs. and unless I glanced at the wrong stat, has a 3.3 GPA.

I just read that he camped at Auburn this weekend and said he really liked it--Liked it enough to go on to say that he's going to go back on an official visit during the season.

Now, I know it's early--SUPER early and I know that it's pretty common for LSU and Auburn to both receive official visits from the same players, but in a year that the state is so-called "down", one would think that a 4-star player from Clinton, LA at a position that we definately need in this year's class, would have been one of the first players offered.

Again, I'm not in "panic" mode, but I just found it odd that he has yet to receive a scholarship offer from CLM.

He just returned from an Auburn camp and was offered by them. Till then, it was only: La. Tech, Southern Miss, and Minnesota.

Said he really liked the camp and learned a lot from Muschamp but does have a lot interest in us too. He's done camping though.

Not sure why we haven't offered him. Miles needs a couple of cornerbacks this year. So far we have one in Ryan St. Julian. It may be that Miles has his sights set on Robby Green, and feels he can get him. But I don't think there is a hair's difference between Waggner and Green. Miles is being very cautious about what LA prospects he makes offers to.

    The obvious answer is either:

    a) they don't feel he the type of player they need at CB

    or

    b) they have higher rated CB prospects on the board with mutual interest and are waiting it out

I'm hearing, at a camp he attended this summer, RG didn't impress.

    Go figure??

Waggner may end up getting an offer, but as of right now it appears that Rivals has him very overrated because his offer list doesn't support a 4 star ranking.

Personally, I don't think we ever give Waggner a "commitable" offer. We should know more after a couple camps.

We might be done w/ CBs once we get Derrick Bryant.

I have been wondering that.... he looked better than Julien IMP but maybe they know something. But you can never have enough CBs though

Waggner is way overrated and has serious issues with technique and hanging with the big boys.

Don't expect an offer unless we have some attrition to look for more CB's.

We have another spot with Steven Korte gone....but don't believe it will be for CB.

His performance at the LSU camp was less than impressive, but St. Julien struggled some as well...
