Based on the computer polls only and some gut feelings about the human polls, here goes: 1. Ohio State 2. LSU 3. Virginia Tech 4. Georgia 5. Oklahoma 6. Missouri 7. USC 8. Kansas 9. WVU 10. Florida Georgia is getting it handed to them in the computer polls after this weekends play. LSU and Vtech pass them in every computer poll. OU will pass them in some as well. USC may pass them in 1 or 2 as well. Missouri will stay ahead of Georgia in a couple as well. Talk about a hit. Virginia Tech is my concern. They should be slightly ahead of us in the computer polls. The voters will do the right thing and place LSU ahead of Vtech based on the earlier head to head match in which LSU pummelled Vtech 48-7. OU and USC will not have enough computer poll help even if they get some favorable voting by the humans. OU has a better shot than USC in this regard. Wow, what a night. Here are my projected computer polls: ...............................A&H....RB....WC...KM....JS....PW....Total 1. Virginia Tech.............4......3......2......1......1......1...... .970 2. LSU.........................3......2......1......2......2......3...... .950 3. Ohio State................1......1......3......4......5......5...... .910 4. Missouri....................2......5......5......6......4......4...... .860 5. Kansas.....................5......6.....11.....5.......3......6...... .820 6. Georgia....................7......9.......4.....3.......7......7...... .790 7. Oklahoma.................9.....10......6......7.......6......2...... .760 8. USC........................8.......4.....12....10.......8......8...... .700 Here is Rich Tellshow, a very reliable source: 1. VTech........... .970 2. LSU.............. .950 3. Ohio State..... .930 4. Missouri......... .860 5. Georgia.......... .790 6. Kansas.......... .740 7. Oklahoma....... .730 8. WVU............. .730 9. Arizona State.. .720 10. USC............. .710 Based on these numbers, which closely resemble mine (we agree on LSU, Vtech and Georgia, the 3 principles in this big BCS mess), we can make the following conclusions: What this means is that OU and USC are out of it completely. Forget it. It's done. Stop worrying. Herbstreit and May talking human polls only, and have no clue as to this projection. If the human polls stayed as they are regarding the relative positions between LSU, VTech, and Georgia from this past week's polls, we would have the battle for #2 as: 1. Virginia Tech...... .7593...... .7740....... .970 = 2.503/3 = .8344 2. LSU.................. .7720...... .7560....... .950 = 2.478/3 = .8260 3. Georgia............. .8309...... .8213....... .790 = 2.442/3 = .8141 What's abundantly clear is that Georgia has lost all of it's advantage over Vtech and LSU just due to the computer polls shifts. Just what I expected. So you believe Georgia sitting idle will GAIN in the human polls over LSU and Vtech? No way on God's green earth. Georgia is done. We only need a few votes to shift from Vtech to LSU's favor. When all is said and done and that 41 point victory is remembered, LSU will get more than enough to place the mighty LSU Tigers at #2 in the BCS. Here are the pundits weighing in: Herbstreit - LSU Corso - LSU Fowler - LSU Lou Holtz - LSU Brad Edwards (BCS guru) - LSU Jerry Palm (BCS guru) - LSU ISLSTL (TF BCS guru) - LSU CBSsportsline.com - LSU scout.com - LSU BCSGuru.com - LSU Stewart Mandel - LSU Mark May - Oklahoma Collegefootballnews.com - Georgia
Islstl - Thanks for the post. This is what I was waiting for before I went to bed. This should be stickied. You were right in 2003, hope like hell you are right again!!
BCS states that there can not be 3 teams from a conference in a BCS game, Do you think Missouri of Kansas gets shafted in place of Arizona State or Hawaii should they win tonight?
Yep, yep, it is kinda like 2003. Speaking of 2003, I have a late-night Hawaii game question. Would Hawaii winning help appreciably at all, since Washington played OSU this season, and they played USC as well? * Guess I answered my question, eh? Geaux Rainbeauxs!!!:LSU231:
Tough call. I think Kansas gets shafted. Kansas had one tough game, and they lost. So they proved nothing this year except that they are a pretty good team. Pretty good won't cut it. Missouri deserves it more. They were in this game vs OU until late in the 3rd. Lots of redzone offense that went nowhere. Game could have been different.
Tellshow agrees with your computer assessment. He has VT 1, followed closely by LSU then tOSU. Damn I hope the voters think about this one.
No real talk about Vtech playing Ohio State. Which is good. I really think they are our toughest competition come late tomorrow afternoon.
