I don't know, I think we win the West and Georgia beats us twice. The only reason I say that is because that Georgia team reminds me of the 2004 Georgia team with veteran QB and they get their revenge on us for 2003 when we beat them once at home and once in the Georgia dome on the way to a national championship.

I'm feeling better and better about the season. There is no team on the schedule we can't beat. It will partially depend on if we can play nearly as well on the road as we do at home and of course injuries. I also am worried about Ole Miss..not because of their capability but because they are the last of 5 tough games in a row with Florida the week before.
Prudence says 10-2 but I am feeling 11-1.

We play four top-10 teams. I don't see us getting past all four.

    10-2.

I agree with you on 10-2. Although, I was watching ESPN's college football preview today (against my better judgement) and Desmond Howard picked LSU to win the crystal this year. Whatever that's worth.

"Pre season top 10" and you know pre season polls don't tell us anything about strength, per se.

I'm getting more excited about TCU. We should have a lot of eyes on that one. We have the opportunity to put the "Undefeated TCU/National Title" shot bool-shyt to rest the first week.

What are other marquee games opening weekend anyway?

I don't think TCwho is in the game after the half. The horned frogs are in for a rude awakening. LSU has too many young guys wanting to get on the field and prove themselves. I have a feeling about this season, if LSU doesn't shoot themselves in the foot we can go undefeated. SEC champions is my prediction.

8-4 or 9-3, anything else is looney tunes. 10-2 is an incredible season any year (83.3% win pct) and the people expecting that are in the spoiled and unreasonable expectations crowd. Vegas, Coaches poll, AP poll, all our LSU beat writers and local papers and experts are saying 9-3 (and that is based on the optimism of LSU always being great). Being prudent, you could add 8-4 easily: For example, here is Athlon Sports panel prediction for LSU:
    Final Projection 9-4
    The panel: 8-4, 8-4, 9-3, 9-3, 10-2

It's football anything can happen. Our guys take the field thinking if they give 150% they will win, our opponents think the same. Anybody can beat anybody, that's why you play the game (UAB, Troy) instead of forfeiting to stay fresh. And that's why fans watch the game (instead of finding something better to do). Everybody who even gets a D3 scholarship was a badass in high school that you all would have been blown away by had you played with/against him. Look at last year, aTm had a -5 turnover margin against us, their worst of the year, and we only beat them by 5. Meanwhile, vs Bama, aTm had a +3 turnover margin (their best of the year), and they beat Bama by 4. Predicting our record is as much as a crap shoot as predicting our turnover margin per game. Let's just beat TCU, we are only favored by 4 and ranked 7-8 spots above them. Bama is ranked 12-13 spots ahead of us and will be favored to beat us much more than by 4

They better at least make the A&M game a night game. If Johnny Foosball is the best, let him prove it in the toughest atmosphere.

TF, this is a very heady post. You definitely offer some grounded comments. There are two mysteries w/this LSU team that make them particularly challenging to be accurate w/predictions (i.e. speculation). How will the offense do under the new tutelage of Cam Cameron, and will the young guns on defense being able to step it up after all of the departures, particularly in the area of depth? I "feel" like both areas will surprise and we will in fact be 10-2, at worst. I know it seems like spoiled optimism, but it could also be described as insightful faith in a program that is well established, has the best OC/DC combination in the country, is recruiting like gangbusters, and is clearly on the rise from an already phenomenal past few years. I think the optimism is warranted here, but admittedly, I get a bit giddy as the season approaches, and we are less than a week away, baby!!!
