Welcome to the board. I predict a game similar to the BCSNCG. A close enough game to keep it interesting, but with LSU dominating in the trenches and playing better defense than AU has played...ever. Either that, or an all out arse whoopin in favor of LSU. We do tend to play pretty well in openers (Les Miles is undefeated at LSU in openers), games after bye weeks, or bowl games, whenever there's a lot of time to prepare for one team. You guys will probably score first...like TAMU last year in the Cotton Bowl, tOSU in the BCSNCG 2007, etc...and then LSU will take over. That's my serious prediction.
Hard to tell, because we do have a ? with how much our passing game will be improved. If it is about the same (I'll drink a gallon of Drano during halftime), I'd guess we run a lot and try to control clock. If that's the case, LSU 20 Oregon 17 If our passing game is improved as is being reported, I'd say LSU 34 Oregon 13 You're asking us, but what is YOUR prediction?
I believe it will be close, probably a big special teams play changes it. Without Harris we'll see how the ducks are. I think Oregon wins if Jefferson hasn't improved. Other wise either way. Oregon 27 LSU 17
That's a fair prediction. I say 26-22 in LSU's favor. So many unknowns with it being the first game of the year so it's hard to predict.
That is the big factor, I only say Oregon wins due to the fact that they shut the run down pretty well. LSU will get their yards though. Never know in 1st game though. Case in point. Oregon vs Boise a couple of years ago
I just don't think Oregon is better than last season offensively, and LSU is a FAR better defense than AU last season. I don't see the 27 points for Oregon. I'd also point out that LSU doesn't typically score so low in ANY game. We aren't an offensive juggernaut...not by any stretch of the imagination. But I'd be SHOCKED if Oregon's retooled DL and lack of Cliff Harris holds LSU below 20 points as you suggest. I know you are gonna vomit in your mouth when I say this, but we play SEC defenses year in and year out. Everytime we step out of conference, we suddenly score...a lot. THE one exception is the Cap One bowl after the 2009 season, where we played on the worst field imaginable with sod literally flying up under our player's feet when they 'ran'. Even in that game, we scored 17. You guys ain't holding us to 17 with that defense in a domed stadium, bro.
