I don't want to go there again this year. We need PROOF this bowl committee got their act together and fixed all the problems. They pay a lot of money and get good teams but that's about it for the bowl experience. Orlando is great but most Louisiana residents have been there often so it's not anything new. (It would be a nice short drive for you. :thumb I submitted my bowl request for everything except the Outhouse Bowl (They've screwed the SEC West too often) and the Bumingham Bowl. (Who wants to spend time in a crappy bowl in Alabama?) If we can't make the BCS (which we won't with JJ at QB), I'm hoping for the Cotton Bowl.
That's what Bayou Bengal said but I want to wait to make sure it's better. The bowl game REALLY sucked last year and it wasn't just due to the rain or JJ not having a clue. Let's give them a year or two to clean up the stadium, the surrounding area, fix the shuttle system, etc.
Our last 10 bowl games...(10 straight years) Capital One (Penn State) Chick-Fil-A (Georgia Tech) BCS / Superdome (Ohio State) Sugar (Notre Dame) Chick-Fil-A (Miami) Capital One (Iowa) BCS / Superdome (Oklahoma) Cotton (Texas) Sugar (Illinois) Chick-Fil-A (Georgia Tech) New Orleans: 4 Atlanta: 3 Orlando: 2 Dallas: 1 Don't rule out the Gator Bowl (Jacksonville) either as they are tied-in with the SEC again.
Hey, hey, B'ham. just got a new hardee's in Hoover. But, unless I'm mistaken, you need to be hovering around 6 and 6 to qualify. Not even LSU can pull that off.
Sorry...no offense. I think this is another example of the SEC HQ taking care of their backyard. I won't go and won't attend the baseball tournament in Hoover until it rotates around the conference. It's like the NCAA selecting Indy (surprise) for the Final Four every few years. No offense to Indy but who wants to be there in April when you could find 25-30 better places to go?
TCU would love to play LSU in any bowl however, hell will freeze over before they HAVE THE CHANCE to play in the Capital One while in MWC.
