I actually agree with your pretty much. We may lose Robinson and replace him with someone else and we may lose a receiver and replace him with someone else.

Cam Robinson now the #1 player in the latest 24/7 rankings. His recruitment now takes on even bigger stakes for LSU fans and the fear that Bama may steal him away. It's Joe McKnight all over again.

It's interesting that one of the weaker spots we have had trouble recruiting high end players (QB, LB, OL) should be Les Miles' strength.

Cam has 2 unlces and others pushing him away from LSU. The new news however is that Mama has had enough and it taking over. I guess we will see. She is all about LSU. Going to be a wild ride.

Well if Cam has ulcers, I would suggest taking some pepcid AC.

I am not saying it's been a bust on recruiting LBs, but in comparing to DBs and DL on the defensive side of the ball, it is a weak spot for our recruitment, although it has gotten much better lately. Not to say that "lesser" evaluated recruits did not get coached up while at LSU (obviously Chief has been a big reason for that lately), but LSU does not by and large get high 4s and 5 star recruits at LB. A big reason is the state of Louisiana simply doesn't produce them for whatever reason.

It's just a matter of relativity, the DBs and DL classes have always been off the charts strong. So maybe it speaks more to that positive note than anything else.

Recruitment is certainly important, but I think development is more important. Boise State, TCU, Wisconsin, Stanford, and Oregon have had Top 20 (and Top 10) programs in recent years without Top 10 recruiting classes year after year.

As for LSU, the offensive line, I suspect, will be much improved (especially in pass protection) in 2013 and 2014 for two major reasons. Reason 1: Mettenberger is the starting QB and the young man is not fleet of foot. Reason 2: there were too many sacks last early in the 2012 season. North Texas nearly knocked him out in 2012 season opener. Both Stud and Miles had to take the heat for glaring OL mistakes, and that's why in spring 2013 practices, both of them were with the O line while Cam Cameron was working with the QBs, RBs, TEs, and WRs. Maybe I'm wrong, but I suspect Miles will again be heavily involved in the development of the offensive line in fall 2013 practices, yet the responsibility lies with Stud, who needs to earn his stay at LSU, in my opinion.

Saeed Blacknall's crystal ball predictions (total of 27) are now 100% LSU. I hope he and the other top WR prospects participate ("compete") so that there can be some comparisons.

    July 21, 2013 Prediction
    6 DBs: 1) Hardeman, 2) Voorhies, 3) Paris, 4) Tony Brown, 5) L. Jones, and 6) John Battle.
2 LBs: 7) Donnie Alexander (OLB) and 8) Clifton Garrett (ILB).
4 DL: 9) Clark (true DE), 10) Godchaux (probable DT), 11) Willis (probable DT), and 12) Garrald McDowell (probable DT).
    3 OL: 13) Brumfield, 14) Clapp, 15) Cameron Robinson
    5 WR: 16) Upchurch, 17) Dupre, 18) Noil, 19) Quinn, and 20) Blacknall.
1 TE: 21) J. Washington.William Upchurch might get some snaps alternately as WR, TE, and RB. Jake Franklin has been discussed in TigerFan as a preferred walk on at TE.
2 RBs: 22) Sione Palelei, 23) Leonard Fournette. Other players on the team, like Jeryl Brazil, Speedy Noil, Diarse, and Upchurch might become the new "committee" to get 3-5 or 5-10 carries per game.
    Kicker: 24) Cameron Gamble
    1 QB: 25) Brandon Harris

Essentially the same list except added 2 (Palelei and Gamble) and subtracted 2 (Williams and Chark).

At this point I do not foresee LSU flipping a player except possibly D. Williams from Auburn.

As we see with recruiting, it never goes as planned. We won't get everybody on your list unfortunately, probably missing out on as many as 2 or 3 of them.

I see Gochaux as a DE.

Dandy Don's site mentioned, a week ago, that when he saw Clapp at the most recent LSU camp he was very impressed with how much he has added really good weight and muscle. I ran across a photo last week of Clapp and Robinson standing next to each other at that camp. Clapp looked like a beast and Robinson looked very soft, particularly in his upper body in comparison. I can not locate where I saw that picture. Can anyone locate it and post it or a link to it?
