That's some fuzzy math. Miles Conference W-L record from 2005 through 2015... 7-1, 6-2, 6-2, 3-5, 5-3, 6-2, 8-0 (pesky loss to gumps in the NC), 6-2, 5-3, 4-4, 5-3. From 2010-2015, his conference record is 34-14. In the last 3 years, it's 14-10. Against the gumps since 2008, 2-7. 8 OT games in his tenure with a 4-3 result. Noticing a trend? College football is a "what have you done for me lately" job performance expectation. LSU has a right to want and demand better IMO.
I can't either, too much of a gamble. I know people would say Herman is a gamble too but that dude has been a shining star everywhere he has gone. People like to point at Mullen and Meyer for giving Saban fits, Meyer and Mullen never just flat out kicked Saban's teeth in when he was established at Bama like Meyer and Herman did. You could look at the Meyer Mullen Florida offense which was geared around Tebow and then look at the offense Herman and Meyer put on the field at Ohio State and see huge differences. That Ohio State offense was designed to feature a great back and throwing the ball to set up Elliot. Whereas the Florida offense was basically Tebow running the ball and then throwing it a few times when people were committed to the box. Herman or Bust.
Peterson would get us slinging the ball. With the type of RBs we attract, that would be poison. But I like Herman, dude dismantled a power team from both the Big 12 and the ACC in successive seasons. There are other good names out there, but Herman would be the first guy I looked at hard.
I know Les probably wants to coach in college but to me, I think he should go coach in high school. Not because he couldn't cut it anywhere in college that's not what I'm saying, I think he would make a good coach at a Big 10 school like Indiana, Purdue, something like that, but Les the man and him being a great father figure I think could help kids tremendously. I know he will probably never do that but I think he would be awesome at it.
