Sunshine pumpers, like Kiffin, seem to think this was a moral victory because the score was so close. Take that sht to rocky top.

i don't see any sunshine pumpers.

we were supposed to lose this game, by 9.5
    we lost by 10
Sounds like the game went down about like it was supposed to go down.

We lost a game that everyone in America, everyone on this board, and even homeless kids in Bangladesh thought we were gonna lose.

those who think we need to change coaches, QBs, coordinators, PA announcers, and ticket takers are the ones who are delusional.

Florida is a better team than us.
Everybody in the country knew that BEFORE the game last night.

But we ain't anywhere NEAR as bad as the ledge jumpers are making us out to be. Not even CLOSE.

Are we national title contenders? no

Can we win the west? oh hell yeah!

Can we win a rematch with these Gators in Atlanta? any given Saturday bitches!

From where will LSU's points come against the rest of their SEC schedule? Is there a magical offense serum that you know about? Can we get it to Baton Rouge?

Small children can watch Florida and Alabama play and realize that this year's Tigers have ZERO chance to beat either.

    Well said!

People seem to forget that most fans and so-called experts called for a 10-2 or 9-3 season. This is only the first loss. Will we lose another game? It is likely. Will we win most of the remaining 6 regular season games? It is likely.

We still control our destiny in the West, and perhaps other than Bama, the other teams in the West all have flaws.

Here's an interesting factoid that I saw in todays BR Advocate (http://www.2theadvocate.com/sports/lsu/63950277.html):

"...no team with a sophomore starting quarterback, like LSU’s Jefferson, has won a national championship since 1992 or a Southeastern Conference title since 2002."

Kind of puts things in perspective.

Your question was already answered before you asked.

Agree. I try to be objective and this is about the most reasonable post in this thread. It was a good battle, frustrating as hell, but truthfully, it's #1 (them) vs. #4 (us). Where a senior QB, heisman trophy winner, with the better, more experienced team, shook off their own mistakes and generally won a tight battle. We showed inexperience, a little bit of poor coaching and poor execution in key times, and couldn't overcome our mistakes. That's how the game goes and in this game it added up to losing by 10 in a game that could have been closer or much worse.

The majority of fans prior to this season would have predicted a 10-2 or 9-3 season. We keep that in perspective, and hope every person on this team improves by the end of the season instead of gets worse (like last year). The positives in my mind are, this is a loss early in the season, our defense is stout enough to win a NC, and the game to really watch has always been and will continue to be our game against 'Bama--win that one, and win the games we're supposed to win, and we see what happens. The negatives are, not sure what I expected out of these lines, but they need to be a lot better. Well, Jefferson is showing he's a sophomore with a lot more room for improvement, and well, Miles and Crowton better be giving themselves a good hard look in the mirror this morning on whether they are really thinking creatively about utilizing the right plays in the playbook and players on offense.... :geaux:

I made the same point to my buddies last night about RP.We are still feeling the effects of that knucklehead!

The OL has got to hold their blocks, even if it's for 2 seconds more and JJ needs to wind up the clock in his head, knowing that he needs to get rid of the ball...

The last 2 yrs UF has beat us. I'll take 100 losses like last night over 1 loss like last season.

No one on this site predicted us to go undefeated (reastically) , but we are improving! Our D held the #1 team to 1 TD (while the WR was holding on to our CB)....

we've scored against every defense NOT ranked #1 in the SEC.
and until Atlanta, we don't play them again the rest of the way.

    • Auburn's D is a joke, we'll score on them
    • Ole Miss has been exposed, we'll score on them
    • Arky's D has given up points to everyone, we'll score on them
    • LA Tech, we'll score on them
    • Tulane, we'll score on them
    • Bama should be a really good low scoring game. 17 points will win it. We can score 17 on them. Will we? remains to be seen.

:geaux: Totally agree with both posts on this one.:thumb: The Tigers will still be a factor in the SEC for the rest of the year and definitely have the ability and opportunity to win 9 or 10 games. Certainly the offense, the OL in particular, and JJ have to improve and they will. Yes, it was frustrating watching JJ and the OL struggle last night. IMO, the OL is missing Helms and Big Herm much more than a lot of folks thought and Barksdale is still learning. Having said that, Ciron Black is not having the type of season he is capable of. Things will get better though.

To all the folks out there who are throwing in the towel on the Tigers this year, just remind yourself that we just lost to the defending BCS National Champions by 10 points. A lot of so called "experts" and many others thought it would be much worse. UF returned EVERYBODY on both offense and defense except for Percy Harvin. They also have the best player in college football for the last several years at QB. The Tigers played them toe to toe, hammer and tong all night and NEVER QUIT!!! They showed a hell of a lot of character and heart. LSU is playing a lot of young kids who will get better because of how they played and what they learned from last night. No, we won't win the SEC this year, but look out for 2010! The Tigers will be OK. :LSU231:
