Last night, two young ladies (approximately 25 yrs old) went down to the LSU game. They were from somewhere around Madison, Ms. They had a wreck close to McComb, Ms. as they returned from the game. There was NO ALCOHOL involved. However, the driver had a wreck about two weeks ago and had hurt her back. Her back hurt her while at the game and she had taken some Lorcet for pain. Apparently, she fell asleep driving back. She is busted up pretty good. Her passenger was ejected and died on the scene. My son-in-law is a fireman and works with the rescue squad. He says there was absolutely no smell of alcohol. (he worked another wreck last night where a man hit a pole. He says he is surprised that man could even start his truck, he was so wasted) One like that lives and a young innocent dies. Sad sometimes. I know the families involved here need the prayers of this great family at Tiger Forums.
Please let me preface this by saying my heart breaks for this family and they will be in my prayers. But then I have to say..... hopefully in order to educate some other young person who may not realize this ...... that driving under the influence of narcotics is no different, no better, no more legal and no less dangerous than of driving under the influence of alcohol. Again, family is in my prayers but I also pray people realize how dangerous it is to drive under the influence of narcotics, whether they are prescribed to you or not.
Driving home after the game the last two weekends was real hard for me because I get up at around 4:00 every day...and that's just to Covington. Driving well into southern Miss. has to be 10 times harder. I don't know what I'd do if I lost one of my daughters. I lost one infant though. The families will never be the same but my prayers are that somehow a greater good comes from this. Maybe in some way both family's faith will be strengthened. Prayer does work so we'll pray for them.
Prayers are being sent from me. We never know why God does things like this, but he might have a plan for the man that was so wasted. I don't know, but God does.
