No one has advocated raising taxes "for the hell of it," as you say. For the record, what do you think we should do as far as the national debt, the budget deficit, tax reform and entitlement/defense spending. Tell us what President Pride would do.
I would start by making 10% cuts across the board. In the big 3 that is. My second action would be tax reform. Flat tax, zero deductions. Exact numbers and what would work best would take some time, however this would yield a better business platform with businesses knowing EXACTLY what will be due year to year. Increase the military's special forces & special weapons while getting ride of less skilled grunts, ground units, and select guard/reserve units around the US. Repeal Obama care or block it and give that role back to the states. Let each state decide EXACTLY what works best for them. Handled at the local level. Social Security reform. Again this would take a few years if I could guess. Likely a second term action.
a tax of 39.6% would only apply to income over $359,500 or so, meaning that the first 17,000 is taxes at 10%, from 17,000 to 35,000 is 15%, 35,000 to 100,000 is 25% and so on. these are not exact figures so don't quote me on them but you get the gyst. sorry, not feeling sorry for someone who is paying 39.6% on their income over 360,000 dollars. right now they are paying 35% on income over 360,000.
39% of anything is bullshit. My bonus check this year was taxed at 34%. Utter shit. I do not make anything near 300k hell.
Oh don't worry, I don't get too worked up about anything Kyle.......especially not our friend Pride. And yes, from time to time Pride does come up with some funny names......called me a douche nozzle once and I thought it was particularly good. Well placed, the names are funny and in good taste.....different story when Pride gets mad at me because I won't let him squirm out of a question.
Bonuses are a different thing altogether and yes, they are taxed heavily. Your company could have sheltered you from some of that by being a little more creative with what they called your "bonus."
Now we are getting somewhere. I really want to respond to this but it will have to wait. Summer camp just called and the kid has pink eye so I am off to pick him up. Once i get him home and settled it I will respond.
I am sure it benefits them in some way better to do it that way because of the tax structure. Again, 39% if anything is a hot mess and should NEVER happen.
