http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/sports/5503240.html Congratulations to Lamar University of Beaumont. It seems they just might have football again in 2010. I wonder which Big 10 teams will be lining up to play them in 2010? It might be a safer game then APP State for Michigan.
You know what they say about those who live in glass houses? I wouldn't be ragging on the Big 10 about their OOC given how many times we've scheduled I-AA teams.
Please, that's not even a valid comparison given how hard the SEC in conference schedule is and how soft the BIG 10 is.
Have to admit DarkHornet's response was what initially came to mind for me, too. There's no reason we schedule I-AA teams. There are plenty of I-A cupcakes if that's what our schedule dicatates. The Sun Belt is full of them and the WAC/Conf USA, imo, is a step up if we're looking for a little stronger OOC opponent.
It's irrelevant. Like tiga said, there are plenty of I-A cupcakes out there. You can't act like were so much better than the Big 10 when we do the exact same thing. Matter of fact, I'd be willing to bet if someone has done the research that the SEC schedules I-AA teams more than any other conference. Just a gut feeling, I don't have the research to back that up. Even if we don't, we still do it WAY more than we should, and very well could do it again this year.
 Mainly what I'm referring to is a Big Ten team scheduling a program who is fielding a team in their first year, namely Michigan cause they cannot take any more chances like what happen to them in September. The App State and so many other upsets this past year puts all elite teams on notice. I'm sure U of H and Rice will line up to play Lamar.
Yes, and maybe there was a time where it wasn't as bad as it would be with the state of our program now. We wouldn't get much out of flogging a team 60-3. You're the one who started all this chit? Lamar hell, U of H wants Bama.
Lamar hell, U of H wants Bama.[/quote]:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl: So does Baylor now.
