Cutting funds should force the govt. to root out fraud to utilize what is left to the best advantage. Democrats don't want to cut funds or root out fraud. They may give lip service but nothing gets done. We have been in sequestration for almost 11 months and nothing is really being done about that either.
Only it has never worked that way. It was tried in the Bush administration. Cutting the funds instead of selectively eliminating programs or eliminating fraud and waste just puts us in a deficit spending situation. It's ass-backwards. We should go through program by program and cut this provision or that one and stop fraud and waste and then reap the savings.
It's not about cutting the funds. It's about allocating the funds that are available without raising taxes to do it. If your operating a business and you only have X amount of dollars to work with you don't spend X+1. You have to either become more efficient or raise the cost of your product. In govt terms raising cost is raising taxes. The govt can take money that would normally go to other countries and put those funds where they would be better served. Example. If SS needed an additional 50 billion. Take it out of the 100 billion we send to Egypt. Take care of our house before we worry about someone else's. It really is stupid to borrow money and then give it away.
We give only $2 billion to Egypt and it has bought us far more than it has cost us. I've explained foreign aid to you many times, but you just don't get it. You'd rather see Russia and China own the Egyptians. Egypt is the biggest Arab country and the one with the most universities that teach other Arabs. Our money has bought us 40 years of peace with Israel, unfettered access to the Suez canal for oil tankers, overflight rights for our bombers, transit rights for our naval forces, they fought with us in the Gulf War, we get their support on many, many things. They don't actually get cash, they get money in a US account that can only be spent on US goods. They buy American ships and planes and military equipment that helps our economy and makes our own planes cheaper. This makes them totally dependent on us militarily. You bitched last year that we were giving billions to the Muslim Brotherhood and I told you that was a lie, we were giving it to the Egyptian military, which is the true power in Egypt. Now, who is in charge of Egypt? The Egyptian military and we own them . . . lock, stock and barrel.
I used Egypt as an example. Could've used Venezuela or Brazil, Pakistan. Israel. How about Mexico. Let's cut there shit off. They jump our borders and aren't much use to us.
Mexican aid mostly goes to fight drug trafficking. Better to fight them there than here. Pakistan is being bribed to keep open our ground supply routes and overflight rights to Afghanistan. Once we are out of there, we can cut Pakistan off and likely will. There is a definite lack of accountability and no reform by the Pakistani government. They harbor our enemies and work against us.
