This is exactly why the GOP is barking up the wrong tree. While I applaud the efforts to head it off before it comes to a disaster, if they let it play out the aca will fall on its face all on its own. It was designed to be funded by everyone doing their part and they never factored in what would happen if all these people "opted out". The money just isn't there to support it nor will it ever be. That said, Harry Reid is still a sorry little bitch and I hope he burns in hell. I think I hate him more than I hate obama and that is saying a lot.
I don't see what the senates problem is. Why do they keep sending the Houses budget back without a vote? Reid should Have the senate vote on the budget proposals instead of never bringing them up. It's their job.
Boehner won't let the House vote on a clean CR. It's his job. Instead they keep sending over bills that only fund what the Republicans want and act surprised that the Senate doesn't play ball. He's supposed to be the Speaker of the House, instead he's the Speaker of the Republicans.
He's sending what they proposed and what the people that voted for them want. Just like the democrats when they pushed Obamacare through. And I agree with this senator The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies. … Increasing America’s debt weakens us domestically and internationally. Leadership means that ‘the buck stops here. Instead, Washington is shifting the burden of bad choices today onto the backs of our children and grandchildren. America has a debt problem and a failure of leadership. Americans deserve better.
A clean continuing resolution is a simple vote on whether to pass the debt ceiling or not to. You should read more. The debt ceiling has nothing to do with cutting spending. It is about paying the debts already encumbered by Congress. Already the US is losing international credibility. We run the risk of everyone switching away from the Dollar as the international reserve currency because for the first time in history, the US government cannot be trusted to do the right things. All because of a radical splinter group within the GOP that is anti-government, anti-responsibility, and anti-smart.
