While I agree the recent departure of so many underclassmen has certainly hurt LSU. No doubt that it makes things much more difficult to consistently be at the top of the ultra competitive SEC W. However Miles certainly has some say in this. It is not the W's or L's, it is the lack of improvement in the individual players, to the group, to the unit. We do not see the improvements we should, or consistency from week to week. There was no excuse for the lack of preparation we witnessed last year. Nearly every game LSU came out flat. That is on coaching. Another issue is LSU has lost many kids from outside factors. Miles and staff have not done as good a job in evaluating the talent or in some cases the person themselves. We have lost many players due to off the field factors. I'm not trying to slam Miles here, but he has some fault in why the program is on a downtrend.
10-2 physical and assistant coach talent, but 9-3 is more likely because of depth problems at DL-LB-OL (Injuries are part of the game and WILL happen) and "Uncertainty" at the QB position. Also have to factor in the yearly one or two game Les Miles "Game Management Fiasco" and/or "Bad Team Preparation/Motivation." 9-3 seems about right, but 8-4 wouldn't surprise me. (Would be PO'ed though) If the Planets align and we are lucky with no major DL-LB-OL injuries and a BH "Jameis Transformation" takes place, 10-2 or better is possible...............
You should slam Miles. It's all on him. He's the Head Coach and ultimately responsible for everything that takes place in the program. We recruit too many players with "Personal" issues. More attention needs to be paid to that. We don't need athletes being brought in with high "Thug Quotients." Frank Wilson, while a great recruiter himself, is overrated as a "Recruiting Coordinator" IMO. I don't care where our classes are ranked. They're unbalanced and haven't had the necessary "SEC Championship Quality" at QB, OL, DL and LB. Wouldn't mind seeing Orgeron taking over the "Recruting Coordinator" title......................
