It seems pretty clear. The pumpers are voting 12-0 and the whiners are voting 8-4. The pragmatists are voting 10-2 or 9-3. No one, I mean no one is voting for 7-5 or worse even though many have predicted that in previous posts. As usual expectations are high and will not always be met. Likewise, LSU does not need to fear a losing season . . . for the 16th straight year.
We played a game on 1/9/12 to end the season. If I remember correctly our offense didn't make the trip. We should have beat Alabama
We'll never know if Lee could have come off the bench and led us to a win while the game was still close. His ass stayed warm while JJ couldn't get the ball past midfield.
I voted 11-1 because I have a good feeling, like I always do this time of year (even if it doesn't always pan out). More realistic is 9-3 or 10-2. I like the schedule with a warm up game, followed by a big revenge game on the road (bring the team together) that I think we'll match up well, followed by a huge game against Auburn in Tiger Stadium. Even with our offensive struggles last year, the running game showed a few wrinkles late that will carry over into this season. Two QBs that are a threat to run, possibly the most impressive stable of RBs we've ever had (and that's saying something), explosive WRs that will be used on jet sweeps, the right side of the O-Line able to move mountains, and a 300 lb TE. If Harris plays at well as I think he will, then 11-1 is a definite possibility.
Anything is a possibility. This is the first time I haven't predicted either undefeated or 1 loss. Anyone who doesn't admit that LSU has some serious question marks is a fool. Can LSU go undefeated? Of course, but will they? I'm not willing to say that until I see serious improvement on the D line and at quarterback.
LSU is Arkansas's superbowl game. They can lose every game of the year and be fired up for LSU as if they had an undefeated record on the line. Arkansas is one of those games where you can toss stats and records out the window. Unfortunately last year, LSU fielded a team that was deflated after a tough loss in our superbowl game against Bama.
