Very well said about Miles tethering to a QB. He certainly does stick with a QB for too long at times. I'm not sure what Harris will produce but I think he has superstar potential. Now if he reaches that or comes close remains to be seen. Does he have the aptitude? Will he put in the work? The natural talent is there, but again, it's that terrible word for now- potential.
I think he has that potential, too, but likely not next season. Perhaps his junior campaign yeah I can see it easily, agreed. I just don't think Les would start a true freshman QB on the road at Auburn with true freshman in Leonard behind him and true freshmen in Malachi and Quinn on the outside and not see that as a huge vote of confidence in Brandon and a huge sign of alarm in his belief in Jennings. Ultimately, he realized Brandon was shell-shocked, and so he saved the kid from melting down like Lee did with pick sixes. And so we suffered with Jennings. I think Anthony getting arrested only made what Les wanted to do much easier to do -- go back to the true talent in Brandon. As you said, though, it's potential, but I think we both agree at least Brandon has potential. Jennings is who he is apparently.
Would have been better to give the start to Harris for the New Mexico State game. He earned it after almost leading a comeback win over Moo U. The start against a lesser opponent might have given him more confidence and certainly some added experience in from of a Tiger Stadium crowd. Might have made a difference vs Auburn on the road but we will never know.
H He did earn the start against NMS, but he still wouldn't have been ready for AU. However if Miles would have played him more in the games after AU he might have been much improved before the season ended. Hopefully he doesn't shit the bed again when it comes to the QB situation this year.
Nobody that I recall saw Dak Prescott as a stud in his first couple of years that I can recall. That development is what I am hoping for. We know he is an athlete.
