This made me chuckle. Until Arkansas can recruit like LSU, we won't win in your house. We have some backs that we expect to take up the slack for the loss of JWill, but who knows how they will do. You guys will finish with a record most schools would be elated with, but being LSU, anything short of a 10 win season will have Tigers fans griping. Go through what the Hogs have gone through, and it gives one some appreciation for not totally sucking.
This years offensive line excites me. I will say this, that offensive line is going to take more pressure off of whomever lined up behind center, than an LSU offensive line has taken off of any quarterback in the last 10 years.
10-2. I think Harris surprises and that means Leonard will run not only run roughshod as he always will, but he'll also be afforded the chance to run wild without 9 men in the box.
I hope you are right. I just don't see Harris as this stud superstar everyone else does. The question is going to be how long or short a leash will he be on? How long before he gets yanked?
For sure it won't be one of those extendable retractable dog walking leashes. And it won't be very long
I hope the faith in Harris is right too. I think 9 to 10 wins is a possibility with decent QB play. I'll admit that the fact that Harris hasn't overwhelmingly won the job from Jennings is a bit scary and makes me feel like we will most likely be in for a long season of Harris learning from mistakes and improving (which is perfectly ok) but probably means 9 wins will be our ceiling. I hate the saying and cliché, but I think with his improvement this season, next year is our year.
I'm extremely happy with Miles going with Harris. I pulled for him to start and get more PT last year. It is a cold, clear fact that when Harris was in the game the team was better. Yeah, yeah, yeah he had a piss poor performance against Auburn in his one start. So what? Look how many poor starts AJ had. The big thing I see and the reason why I'd rather have growing pains with Harris is quite simple. The play calling was more aggressive. The team as a whole ran more efficiently. Plus the fact that Harris spread the ball around much more effective than AJ, who zoomed in on Dural more times than not. I won't change my prediction but I feel much better about the possibility of having a 10+ win season.
I think Les is all in with Brandon, honestly. Unless he's absolutely abysmal or gets hurt, I don't foresee Jennings seeing the field much. When Les tethers himself to a QB, he rarely undoes it. And if so, only on a situational circumstance. He's going to give Brandon every chance to gain experience and lead this team. He realizes what he has in Jennings. I think he's excited about Brandon's potential. Really, if Brandon had gotten into the playbook and been more mature last year I think he would have been the starter. The fact Les actually started him against Auburn on the road despite his immaturity and inexperience to me says he knew he could be better than Jennings. It took a year of lumps, but I think Brandon's touch and accuracy will be something we haven't seen since Mett. Superstar? No. Solid to good SEC quarterback? I think he can be. We won 8 games with absolutely terrible QB play last year. Imagine if we have pretty decent to pretty good play under center? So I think 10. I think we lose to Auburn and I think we lose to Arkansas after a big win over 'Bama.
