Florida Gators, Texas Longhorns top post-spring football Top 25 - Andy Staples - SI.com Alabama at number 10? They have lost their QB along with several key starters on both sides of the ball. Ole Miss at #7? I think Ole Miss will be good but they will not be a top ten team this year. This is Houston Nutt we are talking about. He tends to choke every time he has a highly ranked team. What does everyone think about this? lefire: :LSU231:
well i agree that marriage = 1 man and 1 woman, but i gotta disagree with you saying that ole miss isn't top 10. maybe last season was a fluke, maybe it wasn't. all i know is that they're a legit SEC team. that has to count for something. this situation is also much different than it was in ark for nutt. i honestly cannot wait for the LSU - Ole Miss game this season! it should be a GREAT one. EDIT - oh, and houma is MUCH better than a lot of places in LA (or elsewhere for that matter.)
for fun lets just say that this is the what the top 25 looks like when the season starts. 1. Florida - we play them so we control our destiny with them. 2. Texas - See # 3 OU. 3. OU -plays Texas, vice versa, winner of this game should play in the national championship game, because of their path. Unless something shocking happens. 4. USC- they travel to Ohio State, and they are always good for 1 loss in their weak ass conference, plus new starting quarterback, lost alot on defense, the Trojans will lose at least 2 games this season, and still win their conference. 5. Virginia Tech- seriously? The ACC is a mess, there is no telling who will win this conference, but no one is going undefeated. My dark horse to win this conference is THA U. 6. Oklahoma St. - Zak Robinson and Dez Bryant returning, they will get beat by either OU or Texas. 7. Ole Miss - we play them also so we control our destiny with these guys as well. 8. Oregon - Seriously? Oregon? I dont get this, why is Oregon at top 10 team? They will get beat by someone in the Pac-10. Quite possibly in the Civil War, i would think Oregon St. would be ranked higher going into the season. 9. The Ohio State- This is the team that bothers me, they always have a cupcake schedule, Penn State is losing alot, Michigan is reeling, they do play USC, but its at the shoe, if Ohio State beats USC, look for there to be alot of controversy at the end of the year with who plays in the BCSNCG again this season. 10. Alabama - circle the date boys and girls, we play them, and will beat them in tuscaloosa which has been LSU east, we are 7-3 in the last 10 times we have played there, new quarterback, offensive line issues, lost their best defensive player. 11. TCU - come on, even if they do go undefeated no way they play for the gold. or will they? 12. Boise St. - see TCU. 13. And finally......LSU. the crazy thing about this season is IF we make it to the SECCG, we will most likely have to play Florida twice this season. If we cant beat them at home at night, what are our chances of beating them on a neutral site. Once again this season is going to be a mess when it comes to choosing the national championship game. Ohio State could go undefeated, one of the Big 12 teams could also, Florida could very well also, and its also within the realm of possibility that all of those teams could end up with 1 or 2 losses, could this be the year that a TCU or Boise St. plays for the gold?
I'd rather see another 2 loss champ than Boise St. in the BCS game. Unless they play decent competition.
The question is..... Do they have legitimate arguments? Utah beating Alabama, Boise beating OU a few years ago. Can the BCS continue to keep these teams out if they keep beating BCS schools in the BCS games?
I heard on the news congress is holdings hearings on forcing the BCS into a playoff system. Any truth to this? WTF… they do not have enough to do right now? I am all for a playoff system but why the f&%$ is congress getting involved? Go spend more of our money on socialistic programs and leave college football alone. Through ranting. Thanks for listening.
I just have a hard time believing that OLE PISS is a top ten team just because of one good season. I do believe they are a top 20 team though. I do think they are a contender for the SEC West but I see them coming in third behind LSU and Bama. Maybe I am wrong and at the end of the season, if OLE PISS wins the west, I will eat my crow. Also, Houma is a crappy town. I have lived here for two years and this is the worst place I have ever lived. I have lived all over the country ( including Morgan City ) in my lifetime and this place takes the cake as the worst city.
The problem is.. they only have legitimate arguments after beating those teams. If they had beaten a team of that caliber during the season.. I have no problem with them playing for it.
I'm not going to predict anything but I really like this LSU team. I mean I REALLY like it. Marriage = 1 man and 3 women (with another couple on the side). Over the years, that is.
