Jefferson gets a B+ from me, he didnt look great in the 4th quarter which was due to playcalling, his reads, and the o-line.

O-line gets a D. They did an ok job in pass protection. I think Black is losing alot of money with his performances. But the interior line, man, I dont know what to say about those guys.

running backs no grade, didnt have a chance to really run.

D-line gets a C-, no sacks, let Dixon run up the middle on that zone read run, but the batted balls are a plus. Nevis is a beast as usual.
Linebackers C-, too many arm tackles. Coleman played well.

Corners A+, they played really well, even Hawkins
Safeties C, Hatcher and Taylor gave up big plays, but Chad Jones played up to his potential today.

Special Teams C, too many mistakes, but the punting was good.

Running backs at this point have that look of just lowering their head resigned to the fact they will only get 2 yards at most.

They have no confidence. That ain't good.

Still trying to pick out if it's more the play calling or the O-line. And I have come to the conclusion it's 50/50. And actually at this point, for the OC (or Les Miles) to think he can still run the ball up the middle in obvious running formations with poor guard play is unfathomable to me.

You have to have the dive and ISO and off tackle runs in your playbook in the SEC and you have to be able to execute it even when the opponent knows it's coming. That aspect isn't on the coaches, they have enough areas that are their fault without blaming poor interior line play on them. It's poor execution and sometimes just getting manhandled by the interior linemen.

Defensivly, much better. I dont care how many yards or points they scored, the scheme was at least aggressive. We keep that up, we will make plays. B

This really may be the worst oline at LSU in the last 20 years. At this point we should just run shotgun every play so JJ at least has time to see it coming. There were 3 or 4 times that they actually gave him plenty of time to throw, but the other 70 plays they sucked hard. F-

Over all I'm happy. I see a lot of improvement in a lot of areas. Oline is going backwards and that is hard to do when they have played as bad as they have.

50 came on broken play/scramble so it's not like they lined up and straight passed for 223.

I give BOTH lines a big, stinking F-. What worries me the most about the offensive lines anemic showing is that they've not improved one iota this season. I was patient with them at first because I know that OL's need a little time to gel as a unit. But damn, they are just atrocious. Not gonna sugarcoat that one.

The defensive line has ZERO discipline. They are forever biting on plays and gettinng behind the runner or QB. And, as I've been saying for weeks, they keep trying to go around their blockers rather than through them. This is leaving them out of position and keeps getting them burned. Sure, you could say that they stepped up during the goal line stand, but it should have never even come to that.

Going to be a long season, I'm afraid. You simply can't survive the SEC without effective line play. We can get by against the first part of our schedule, but things are going to get exponentially more difficulty starting now. Make no mistake, State is awful. They had no business being in that game with us.

Can't disagree with your grades. Thought JJ can improve on reading blitzes...needs to dump the ball more quickly.

Buddy, speedy Gonzales couldn't dump the ball fast enough behind this line.

I think JJ is progressing very nicely, and has plenty of room to improve, but has done everything asked of him.

I have never met him personally, but I would be willing to bet he wishes they would ask more of him.

I think the improvement in the passing game was the lone bright spot today. Punting has looked a lot better, as well. But JJ definitely showed the most improvement today, and not a moment to soon.

THIRTY F*CKING YARDS RUSHING? ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?! That, right there, is rock-bottom, folks. Doesn't get any worse than that. You could literally replace the entire offensive line and you're still almost guaranteed to improve.
