It's time to move on from the Alabama game, although admittedly, it still stings and it's now Monday... As Stacey said in one of her posts, the what ifs are torture. I won't rehash them here, as we have been over them many times. Seems to me there are a number of positives to take from the Alabama game, not the least of which is perhaps we now have our QB. I really hope this is the game we all look back on as Mett's turning point, where the light bulb came on, so to speak. Our offense put up 400+ yards on the best defense, and our own defense played extremely well, but for questionable coaching calls at the end of each half, which cost us dearly. All that said, how do you all think we fare the final three games? We have Miss St, Ole Miss, and Arky. Even with a superior LSU team, I don't consider any of these games gimmes. All three historically play us tough. In terms of the Miss St game, how does LSU respond from the Alabama loss -- do we come out angry and win convincingly, or do we come out flat given the enormity of the Alabama game? I think the former -- the team will be angry, hungry, and with a huge chip on its shoulder. There's still a lot to play for this year.
I think we will lose one. We have nothing to play for from a week ago. No west, no seccg, no nc. All the marbles were on that one game. Very very difficult to refocus as a team. Les has his work cut out for him. Even sec lower halves can beat an unfocused, undisciplined team. I'm just not sure which game we lose but this week would be it if state comes to play. Luckily it's at night and we have had their number.
It's definitely hard to be excited for the remainder of the season after Saturday night. I hope we can re-focus and go 11-2. With nothing to lose, I also hope we keep opening up the offense. Why not?
It's les miles. We only do that with equal opponents or after a loss. But we unwon in regulation last week.
LOL....Wah Wah Wah......here come the crybabys. If the staff keeps opening up the offense the way they did Saturday night, they will not loose another game.....despite the negatigers coming out of the woodworks now.
Plenty to play for. - An outside shot at the Sugar Bowl - A pre-season Top 3 ranking for next year after a strong finish - For the Seniors who have no shot at the NFL, their last games of competitive football - For the players who are NFL material, impressing scouts - For Mett, I should hope he wants to build on his performance and continue to win over the fanbase - For the coaches - their jobs - And finally, if you're an LSU Tiger and you don't perform, there's a hungry guy on the bench who is probably as gifted as you are
Wow how much have we have changed as fans. I remember how excited we were to make a bowl game and making the peach bowl that one year was a huge celebration. We have nothing to play for ? Another 10+ win season a possible BCS game. Recruiting.... If we think playing for a NC and West title is going to happen every year we are in for a very disappointing "fandome"
Like I said nothing to play for compared to 2 days ago. The coaching staff will earn their money in the next few weeks. I hope.
