A ten win season would mean a few things.

    1. LSU players and staff didn't pack it in once the SEC title and national playoff were out of reach.

    2. LSU is a program that can win ten games after losing a billion guys to the draft and playing a bunch of freshmen all year.

    3. LSU is such a strong and consistent program that a ten win season can spark an argument over just how disappointing it was.

    4. We will be in a great position for a run at the title next year.

10 wins will probably not get you a championship. If you win 10 games then your record is 10-3 (76% winning percentage). If you figure two of those loses will be SEC loses then a 10 win season gets you in the Chick-fil-A or Captial One bowls. You most likely will not play for a SEC championship or be in a top tier bowl game.

If you doubt me look at LSU's record since 2000. Only once did we have a 10 win season and play in a top tier bowl. That was 2001 when we played in the Sugar bowl.

If we want to win SEC and national championships then we need to win at better than a 76% rate, so for me personally a 10 win season is ok, but it will not get us to the elite level.

If anything coaches at the top level are underpaid. They are the CEO's of $100 Million plus per year entertainment businesses. CEO's in comparable industries earn much more. Les Miles makes $4.3 Million a year. Nick Saban $7 Million, Urban Meyer, Charlie Strong, Jimbo Fisher $5 Million. Miley Cyrus makes $39 Million a year. Christian Bale TURNED DOWN $50 Million Dollars to play the role of Batman again. Hell, gimme the keys to the Batmobile and I'll put on the costume.

Why do you always criticize Saban's Era. I understand that I should have respect for my elders, so I respectfully disagree. Every championship matters.
Why don't you ever bring up when Les Miles was hired and had never won 10 games that his coaching cost us in the SECCG and a chance to play in the National Championship. He lost to Tennessee and Georgia with a team that he was given. He finished 11-2 and you're probably more proud of that than our team winning the SEC in 2001. You're an old joke.

The 2005 season concluded with undefeated Texas playing undefeated USC.

You really are like the drunkest, loudest, dumbest guy at the bar who just won't shut up about things you are wrong about.

Considering the fact that the three teams that will likely finish ahead of LSU are all currently top ten teams. Make no mistake in assuming that no matter how they affect each others rankings in the next few weeks, that they are all championship caliber teams. Despite the disparity in rankings and the w/l column, LSU is right there with them in overall strength and quality. Also consider LSU's record under Miles against OOC competition, then look at which teams that are currently ahead of slightly behind LSU in any poll. I challenge you to find seven teams that would undoubtedly beat LSU any place they wanted to play. In reality LSU is a top ten team whether you you fail to recognize it or not, even though the polls will not reflect it.

One could argue that it is because LSU lost to them.

Not this year. We are not as good as the teams we lost to.

Three of them are on the board. All that is left is 4 more. I'll pick FSU, TCU, Arizona St. and leave one on the table.

It is not upsetting to me that LSU is not as good THIS year or last year. We had NFL rookie starters playing on offense last year but a virgin defense. This year we have a virgin offense and a defense that has solidified itself. Accountability comes in the next two.

I don't agree that we are not as good as the teams we lost to this season. Bama is overrated and been skating on thin ice this season. They could just as easily have 3 maybe 4 losses at this point. MSU is a good team but not great their defense will let them down in the end. Auburn was just a shitty game all around for us if we played again I think the outcome would be vastly different even with our QB struggles. Our defense has come of age

Well we can't start the season over again. We will have to wait until next year. But I really don't think we could beat Miss St. or Auburn right now. The offense has not improved.
