I'm realizing that a 10 win season doesn't mean what it use to. If we win the next 2 games and the bowl game, that's another 10 win season for CLM, but what does that accomplish? If 10 wins means 3rd, 4th, or 5th in the division it's no longer something to brag about.
Then why play the games???? of course a 10 win season is to be celebrated! this notion of only championships matter is telling.....it indicates that somehow those with this condition seem to think that they are the "real" fan, the one who truly is passionate, the one who will not "settle" for anything less, the one who demands that their sense of self be bolstered by a ring..... wake up and look around....NO ONE WINS THE CHAMPIONSHIP EVERY YEAR.....NO NOT ONE what does a 10 win season accomplish???? it's not 10 wins seasons for les...it's 10 win seasons for a group of men who give all up on the field i guess i'm not smart enough to figure it out...
Ten wins in the modern age of football isn't quite the same as ten win seasons pre-2002. Back when the season was 11 regular season games plus a bowl game, 10 wins meant a lot. 10-2 was an accomplishment. With the addition of the 12th regular season game, its a lot easier to get to 10 wins than it used to be. 10 wins is the new 9 win season, and 11 wins is the new 10 win season. 10 wins gets you in the top 20. 11 wins gets you into the top 10.
Don't get me wrong. 10 wins is good. However, with that comes 3 losses. Going forward, 10 wins means another loss to Alabama and 2 random losses elsewhere that are gutting. If one isn't to Alabama, then it is all the more gutting to get past the monster on the schedule for naught.
How can you say that 4th place is a good season. The first goal that players and coaches talk about is winning the West. You have to win 6 or 7 SEC games to even be thought about in the West Race. We should know that the other conferences aren't as good so we have to judge our season off of conference play. True it's tough and our division is brutal but we signed up for it in 1933
I sat through 8 losing seasons in the 90's, Scooter. I know a good season when I see one. This team is ranked with losses only to top-10 teams. We've seen some exciting games this year. Stop whining, will ya'. Enjoy some damn strong SEC football.
Kind of like shooting a 70 and someone else in your foursome shoots 69. Of course I've never been paid 4 mil plus to shoot a 70.
