Well, this is exactly what I have been saying all along. Islstl made up that big long thread with all of the possible complicated scenarios, when it is really simple. The key is we are in the top 5 BCS in November when top teams tend to fall and do not have the time/games left to make up the drop in polls that comes with a late season loss. The details will work them selves out, are typically unpredictable, and you just have to see how it plays itself out. LSU is sitting as good as they can expect.

As far as the article itself, the guy keeps referring to a one loss LSU playing for the BCSNC without winning their conference or "even their division", and how "lucky" our season has been. While he is technically correct about the division thing, his lack of recognizing how tough our schedule has been, both in conference and out of conference, really pisses me off. He makes it a point to talk about the close wins, as if a close win is somehow less important than a blow-out, and makes it a point to say how many "gambles" we have taken, how our offense is ranked #90, but never points out how outstanding our defense is, or how tough our schedule is, or how the SECw is probably the toughest division in all of college football, and how we have only lost one game in that division (so far, tongue in cheek). Boy, the national perspective really ticks me off sometimes.

Just think if lsu played boise state or tcu's schedule. I'm not sure that some of Boise state's opponents couldn't be beat by west Monroe 's highschool team

Imagine Oregon loses to Oregon State and Auburn, still in the midst of the scandal that has legs, loses to South Carolina that same weekend. I really think the voters will punish a scandal ridden Auburn team to take themselves off the the hook for not having to vote them in. Auburn scandal is like an additional loss.

And nobody in their right mind is putting TCU and Boise State in the NC. No way, no how.

So why not LSU? Why not?

For you BCS busters, there is your perfect storm.

If Oregon loses badly, they drop a lot... if they lose close, they will be kept at the top of the 1-loss teams.

This would be great! beating Ole Miss and Arkansas is what I'm looking forward too and then win the bowl game that is given to LSU!!

I don't see Oregon or Auburn losing and then I see Auburn beating Oregon in the NCG......of course that's if Newton isn't suspended then that changes!

    I don't think so.

If they lose at all, I think they drop to at least 6th, unless a bunch of 1 loss teams lose a 2nd game.

And we would have a decided advantage over them in all the computer polls. So we don't necessarily even have to be ahead of them in the human polls, just very close behind is all that is required. I can't see the voters having them still way ahead of us if they lose late, especially if it's the last weekend vs Oregon State.
