Not having another gamer under our belt is a minus, but probably a small one. Hatch and Lee need experience but I do not think one half against Troy would have made all the difference in the world. Now, if they were going to play one half against an SEC school I think that would have been huge, but Troy is Troy, and we still have North Texas.

I don't suppose there's any chance that Les tells the O-Line to allow some pressure on Hatch/Lee for the NT game is there?

I'm not as much worried about the loss of the game, as much as I'm worried about these QB's not seeing any pressure until Auburn and that rattling them.

I suppose they might have to learn how to swim by getting tossed into the pool though. Maybe that's what Lee needs to take a step forward.

I see 2 positives: opportunity for less injuries BEFORE Auburn, and less film for Auburn to look at while preping for us.

I see several negatives: 1 less game-experience for our QB's, no bye week late in the season when injuries and fatigue have set in (we will need rest for the stretch run), 1 less game for our O and D to "gel" before we enter SEC play, but the biggest one for this selfish fan:

NO FRIKKIN TIGER FOOTBALL THIS SATURDAY NIGHT!!!

Hey LSU fans. I was just thinking about all the positives and negatives for my Tigers. First off, let me say that I'm very glad that this hurricane didn't turn everything upside down. I'm glad the damage isn't all that bad and hope the best for all affected by the cane.

Now to football. My thoughts were:

The LSU QB's don't get the reps. They really need reps in actual games to get better. Advantage for Auburn.

The offense that Troy runs is probably very similar to Auburn's offense. I think they are basically using Tony Franklin's offense. Playing against that would have given you a better idea in how to stop it. You can watch game film all you want, but the players having been on the field, game speed against a very similar offense would have been a tremendous advantage. Advantage Auburn.

LSU gets to rest. They rolled over App State and now they get time to sure up any injuries, and the younger players aren't so jacked up. It kind of brings them back down to earth. They have time to really think about what they did right, what they did wrong, and what needs to be worked on. Advantage LSU.

Auburn will have one less game to see tape of. I don't think this will be a huge deal. They know Crowton*spelling, they've played against that offense. The only difference is the QB. I'm not sure if this is an advantage for either team. Auburn is going to be vanilla the next two games. The tapes will help LSU, but I think watching Troy's game tapes from last year would be more beneficial. The thing about Tony Franklin's offense is he doesn't really hide anything. He's going to run the same plays and basically dare the other team to stop it. I think Tubs wants everything vanilla, but Franklin wants to light it up. I'm gonna say push to slight advantage LSU.

I think one of the big x-factors in this game will be that LSU's QB, Hatch or Lee, will not have played against an SEC opponent. I think that is huge. They've never played in a hostile setting. I'm not saying they will be rattled, but it's just a whole different ball game for a young QB going into an environment like that. From all we've seen, this will be a night game. Advantage Auburn.

I haven't decided if this helps or hurts any team more than the other. But I do think the biggest factor is that Hatch or Lee needs the reps to get more experience before SEC play. We obviously won't get to plan for how good or bad the QB may be, but I think they need experience, just like Auburn's QB's need experience. Anyway, here's to another hell of a game. This is probably my favorite game to watch every season. War Eagle!

One other negative, 8 straight games to finish the regular season. Nine if you count the SEC CG we will end up playing in. Of course that reminds everyone of the 2005 season, when we got blasted by GA in the SEC CG. Wasn't there a game moved that year as well?

They held a meeting the day before they decided. The storm hit the day before that. Tuesday is when they should've made the call. By then, the damage was obvious. Hotels had/have no power, and intermittent water.

There are other things to think about besides the condition of Tiger Stadium...or even campus. The whole city comes into play when it comes to an LSU game. It's ridiculous to think of cleanup crews/National Guardsmen having to work around gameday traffic.

Like I said, it was a no brainer.
