With that O line this may in fact extend his career.

yeah, flynn can't catch a break. Well, i guess he caught a break when he signed that huge contract but damn, he's snakebit when it comes to PT. From what I hear of the O-Line, this may be the right play for Oakland.

Well let's be honest. Flynn has sucked in his two auditions for starting jobs in both Seattle and Oakland. Yeah the O-line is bad and he has few weapons to work with in Oakland, but he still has a job to do. They at least think Pryor can run away from the pressure and use his legs as a weapon. So I actually understand why they went with him.

Flynn with Seattle in preseason: 7-for-26, 102 yards, one interception, no touchdowns.

    Ouch.

His stats with Oakland this preseason are actually good at first glance, except for the 7 times he has been sacked. That's why Pryor is starting.

    At least he got paid.

Both last year and (I think) this year, there have been mentions of Flynn having a sore elbow. Not sure if it's a minor or major injury but seems as though it has lingered. Curious to see what Pryor will do and whether Flynn will be playing again soon.

Wasn't aware of his preseason stats either year, but kinda hard to hold sacks against him unless he's holding the ball too long. Given the stories of the Raiders O-line, I doubt he is.

That and he's banging one of the Minchew sisters, so dude is living a pretty good life.

It's honestly the best thing for him. It would only be a matter of time before he'd get seriously injured with that Oline. Now he can stay healthy and catch on somewhere else at some point. Of course it's probably only a matter of time before TP is injured and Matt has to go in.

Oakland fans are delirious and think Pryor is the next coming. Even in the preseason, their offensive line looked terrible. Pryor will quickly be exposed. Matt has what it takes to be an NFL QB, but maybe some people were just not meant to be starting QBs. We could make all the excuses, but it's on him to win that job especially when he had the head start in the Seattle and in Oakland. Personally, I wish he had gone to Arizona. I would rather be a back-up QB anywhere than start for Oakland.

I'd be thrilled if I were him, get starter money and hold a clipboard and not get your brains bashed in, do that for a decade, call it a career and live a great life!

yeah, Flynn got sacked 7 times to 4 times for Pryor... but Flynn completed 70.4% of his passes while Pryor only completed 53.1% ... i agree with what Darren Sharper said after preseason game 3 (when Flynn had a bad game and Pryor had a good game).... he said he they were both still neck and neck and this isn't something you have to decide now. the Raiders are going to stink this year anyway, so there's no reason the QB battle can't continue through the season. on the other hand, the other people argue that Pryor is the future.... he's younger, faster, stronger.... so make him the starter now and build your future around him. but Flynn is only 28, he's still has 5-7 years left until he is the age that Brees, Brady, and P. Manning are now. What's weird is that everybody expected another round of the Flynn vs Pryor audition in Preseason Game 4, but Flynn didn't play (not sure if hurt or what)
