I think this has been a big factor. We were fired the hell up for our best opponent so far. I think we just had too many cupcakes in September. However, at least it has allowed us to see where we needed improvement without dropping a game.
. . . and I'm not trying to be flippant. The team is finding its way and working on improvement from play to play and game to game, IMHO. That's why I can't figure it out.
With our predictable offense, it is hard to foresee LSU winning unless we have defensive or special team scores. Unless, Les busts out the super secret playbook he spoke about. 17-14 LSU
I'm really getting sick of moronic posts like this I can't imagine posting something more retarded than this if I tried...alright, fine, I'll try... Duurrrr and duuurrrr and duurrrr. Duuuuuuuurrrrr. Duuuuuuurrr
I'm not really sure which part of my post is moronic. I think the offense is predictable, as many others on this board have said. I think we need defensive and special teams scores to win this game. I predicted a score and a LSU win by a slim margin. Should I have predicted a blowout and a 500yd Mett performance?
This predictable Offense put up the most points LSU has scored since the mid 90's. anyone can say what they want but every LSU has played cupcakes and had a chance to do that, yet only this years team did. If we eliminated the mistakes we roll Florida. This team has also gotten over 500 total yards of offense something that hasn't happened since 2007. My guess is that LSU has been game planning for Florida ever since the Auburn game. Combine that with rain and you have last weeks game. This week will tell us a lot about our team but I'm not ready to dismiss the,yet like sme people.
Couldn't agree with you more. Everyone is comparing the scores of games from last year to this year. Fans have to realize that every season is different. Experienced personnel for LSU and the other teams on our schedule change from year to year. Stats indicate that this years offense has produced more yardage and nearly as many points as last year. Mistakes have made the offense look less productive. Injuries, suspensions, and player transfers have all affected the consistancy of this team. Today's game is a challenge for this team to see if our reserves can play with a top 10 team on the road. That inludes Mett, who is very talented but inexperienced. Coupled together with inexperience at WR, we saw what the road game at Auburn turned out to be. But we still won. Hopefully this team has learned how to handle a hostile situation from a communication stand point and stay composed (this includes the OL and the Mett with his wide outs).
LSU 13 Florida 6 Most likely in OT. After the game, Florida will say they were the better team but we all know the better team won. That is LSU.
You know, I just have a feeling LSU will come out rolling. Miles will stick to his play style of running the ball down their F'ing throat and it will work. I think our guys will show a lot of LSU pride tonight.
Saying that our offense is predictable is way more predictable than the actual offense. It's unquestionably the most tired and cliche' criticism of the team. People said it about Jimbo, and then Crowton, and now Stud/Krags/Miles/whoever. And I'm sure if we ran Stud out of town and hired Johnny OC, people would say the same thing the first time he failed to put up 400pts in a game. The key to a successful offense isn't always keeping the defense guessing; it's balance, proper execution, and not making foolish mistakes. Crowton was constantly trying to fool the defense, and you see what it produced. The only people that he really fooled were his own offensive players. Wanting an impossibly unpredictable offense is not only a pipe dream, it's a foolish desire. Our offensive struggles this year can be attributed to turnovers, drops, and poor pass protection. The play-calling, while at times questionable, has not been the root of the problem.
