right. and many nations said it was "wrong" or "illegal" for the US to invade iraq. nobody cares. when you can do what you want, you do it. i laugh in the face of your laws.
The artist gets to decide if he wants to give his music away (some do) or if he wants to sell it (the overwhelming majority). The choice is not yours. You are just trying to justify theft.
This is not clearly true. Free distribution can help promote an artist. It can also put him in the poorhouse. I've explained to you before that garage bands and amateurs give away music that no one is buying anyway to promote themselves. Professionals work for pay, just like the rest of the working world. Recordings are performances too, and they are not free unless the artists wants it that way. Few do.
recordings are not performances. they are recordings of performances. send your boss a video of you working instead of actually working and see what she says.
Its wrong to masturbate, says the church.. @ Mctiger, there is nothing to admit rather than my view on the sharing of what I OWN or what I choose to take that is all in accordance of how I view my life. Not how Law dictates it I love it.
This thing is being pushed more by record companies and movie production companies than by the artists themselves. Trent Reznor has it right, put all your new shit on your website for free download, then when you do a concert, you charge over a 100 bucks a ticket. You get your shit out anyway you can. p2p file sharing is FREE ADVERTISING!!!!. Only people who's panties are so wadded up because they are mad they paid for something someone else didn't are against file sharing. That and the industry, most artists are not.
