In fact, it is not over. The recording and movie industries are some of America's biggest industries for bringing in hard income from overseas. You want them to give it away to people who are raping us for oil and cheap manufactured goods.

Sharing a copy of a copyrighted file is stealing. Period. End of story. There is plenty of material that is in the public domain that you can "share".

Bullshit. Libraries are the biggest purchasers of books and are vital to the publishing industry. They LOVE libraries.

That's ONE issue. The main issue is income for authors. You have the ridiculous notion that professional writers can somehow live without income and don't deserve to profit from their work. You have a child's sense of entitlement to things you don't own.

Special interests? Without the writers and publishers there would be no books for you to steal. They must be paid and they deserve to be paid. You just want to freeload because you read all day instead of working for a living. You are a parasite on society.

Sorry, I don't see it as stealing and I bet there are millions of other humans who don't either.

i dont want them to give away anything. i want them to do whatever they want. i want the government to stop prosecuting people for trading information, regardless of what the information is. i dont really want anything because i have already won. you or i can have whatever we want for free and trade anything we want. i just stole the whole first season of game of thrones and no one can stop me.

thats a very nuanced opinion, dinosaur.

on some occasions when books would not sell at all, and no one borrows them, publishers dont mind them. but for the most part libraries are just books for freeloaders like me and publishers do not like that. in the last year i have red about 50 books from the library, all for free. so much revenue lost. and like i said, it is getting worse with ebook lending, which publishers believe is way too easy. they hate when things are happy and goof for readers because they only care about special interests of themselves.

that is incorrect and i am not the topic. writers will always be able to make money. do you think there was no good literature before modern copyright laws? i dont. i read plato and sun tzu and they are pretty damn good.

of course. you attack me because i am absolutely blitzing you in this argument.

Martin, as far as music or FLV videos on Youtube. You can also download the RealPlayer, and download videos and songs straight from youtube, then convert them to mp3 or your mobile device, or anything really with a program called Format Factory, or the convertor that RealPlayer has.

And it is not policed whatsoever.

i know, theives like me have it pretty easy.

nowadays i just use spotify and i dont have to bother stealing music. its easy and artists make money. like i said years ago, they can find ways to make revenue. i even said years ago that advertising was the way to go, just like free broadcast tv. and of course i was right thats the spotify model, and it is working like crazy. the music industry is wasting money lobbying for things like sopa and whatever, they should be working on things like spotify.

either way, the argument is basically over and we have won. you no longer have to pay for media. you can if you want to, but you dont have to. i dont have cable and i borrow and steal books and listen to spotify. i use the money i save to get drunk and pick up sluts.
