well, i'm one of those strange people that doesn't really put a whole lot into recruiting classes until about 4 years after they sign. a mark of a good class is what they do in college, not a collection of some friday night all stars. a good example of this i think is the 06 class. there were some big time hit and misses in that class, (wait maybe it was 05?? i can't remember) but i like the fact that miles is recruiting strong classes a season after the gumps took the "recruiting national title" (which i freakin hate that term btw). we were all making fun of the gumps last year for touting this meaningless title, i hope our fans don't get caught up in all the hype this year. them and others think LSU's decline started with the exit of saban's recruits and there will be no better feeling than proving them wrong. the only championships that are important are SEC's and one of these :crystal: so right now i'll vote for great class with the knowledge that les, his coaches, and the players have the ability to bring us another title that really counts. :miles: edit: i'll still be at the bash though, i love a party.
It all starts with recruiting!!!:geaux:Got to have the players to be coached up to win another :crystal:.
I agree. I hope we are recruiting for "need" as well as "stars." Doesn't matter how many stars those backs/receivers have, without those offensive horses up front their stars won't shine. I am sure our coaches/recruiters understand that.
I agree with all of the comments above, and it's true that the next 4-5 years will tell the story, but still on paper this is developing into the best recruiting class ever for LSU when you look top to bottom. I am sure Islstlsltlsl can give us the actual recruiting scores to back that up. It may be best ever w/o RR, and Mingo yet to sign. I voted best ever b/c of potential, recruiting ranking, and the fact that the question is being posed right now and there is no way to determine how they actually fare over time (its a speculative question to begin with). Someone will need to do a different poll that reflects back over time to ask what the best ever was at a later date, but right now on paper this looks like the best ever, IMO.
