Hey y'all, I am new at following the NBA but have been keeping up with the Hornets in the playoffs. I know they had to win best out of 7 against the Mavericks and that tonight they did..but now what? What is the procedure to get in the championship game? Is it a tournament from here on out? Sorry, I usually just keep up with LSU football.
    Curious....

They have to win the next series (likely against the Spurs) to get a berth into next series, the Western Conference finals (basically the series that determines the champion of the Western Conference). If they win that series it's on to the NBA championship game against the champion of the Eastern Conference.

The road to the championship always goes through LA. ;)

Actually it is a bracket like NCAA Basketball. (click to enlarge)

Also, getting past the Lakers will be tough huh? Do y'all think we have a chance to get to the "ship"?

Yes, and they take forever. Damn TV ratings.

Yes. The Lakers are like a modern day assault with five Bill Russell's. With way tighter shorts.

Seriously the Hornets have just as good of a shot as anyone to make it to the finals. Though, the toughest series might eb then next one, especially if they drop a game at home.

Agreed. Let's not worry about the Lakers too much... we have to get past San Antonio first, which will certainly be no walk in the park.
