Craig Steltz is the perfect example this year of a player who really stepped up & played exceptionally, becoming an All-American, after not being a starter before in his career.

What players will step up next year?

My fairly optimistic (but reasonable) predictions:

Charles Scott gets the most snaps at RB, but won't be good enough to consider leaving early/earn All-conference honors (in large part because of our other talented RBs).

Barksdale becomes a 2nd Team All-SEC Right Tackle in his first year as a starter and as a Sophmore.

Coleman becomes our next great Safety.

Patrick Johnson becomes a starting CB in place of Chevis Jackson, earning freshman All-American honors.

Toliver goes from our sometimes-3rd string-skinny & not knowing the playbook-WR to our bonafied PLAYMAKER in the open field at WR.

LaFell brushes off the problems he had catching the ball earlier this season to become our #1 WR next year & a leader on our offense, and will be All-SEC.

Ryan Perrilloux stays out of trouble all off-season, only making headlines with interviews about the team & goes on to barely lose out to Tebow for first team All-SEC honors - getting 2nd team instead but still being one of the 10 most efficient QBs in the country.

Drake Nevis grabs a starting spot at DT & earns All-SEC honors.

I agree with almost all of those. But Chad Jones has to be one player that I expect a bunch from in upcoming seasons. To me, he will be a Laron Landry-type safety for LSU and an All-American. He is big time.

Yea, I thought about that. But will he start over Coleman...?

I can agree with all of that.

I'm also looking forward to seeing how T-Bob Hebert will do on the oline.

I think Dickson will have a monster year, and maybe Danielson (who does the lion's share of our games AGAIN) will finally know his name isn't Dirkson or Dickerson.

I really hope that Terrance Tolliver becomes a good player, but I'm not that sold on him...Lafell and Byrd will be great next year....I believe that Curtis Taylor will be All SEC.

Charles Scott is a beast, for people who really dont see that.
Joe Barksdale will be an All-American when it is said and done.

Terrance Tolliver will be ALL-SEC as Lafell
Perrilloux will be mentioned for the Heisman a few times next year.
I thin Demetrius Byrd will be a superstar his senio season
    Chad Jones of course
Keiland Williams will be All SEC
Richard Murphy will make an impact

Perry Riley will prove alot as well at LB
Patrick Johnson will be ALL-American Freshman
    Ricky-Jean of course
Drake Nevis will turn into a monster on that D-Line
Richard Dickson will have a standout season next year
Herman Johnson should be an All-American next year.

To be honest, I was wondering where Jones was at safety. I thought for sure they would have him in before Coleman but I was wrong. I mean he's played safety this year and I haven't seen much from Coleman till Monday night.

How about Jones at strong safety and Coleman at weakside where McCray plays in the nickel now?

I just have to think that Jones will be in action next year someplace. Hell he may play LB for all I know.

Just curious, but what don't you like about Toliver?

My predictions are: Rickard Dickson continues his roll and has an All-SEC year.

Colt David wins the Groza (dude pretty much hasn't missed a kick since the Kentucky game).

Jai Eugene learns to play the ball and not the man, and becomes a solid starter.

Ricky Dixon becomes a dangerous threat as No. 4 WR. Perrilloux loves him (just look at the spring game stats).

Coleman impressed the heck out of me last night, but Jones impressed me the most out of the young guys this year. Even The Turtle, who isn't all that interested in football and only keeps half an eye on the games when I'm watching, is all, "daYUM, who's that guy?" when Jones is on the field. So that will be interesting, to say the least.

Murphy looked great last night to, so I wonder if he'll be the one to be the feature back (if we have such a thing, lol) instead of KW.

I think the Oline will be awesome next year.

I can't wait to see Patrick Johnson on the field.

And will Holliday be back, or will he decide to concentrate on track next year, given his injury this year and the championship?
