I agree, and I sure hope you are correct. If the team played smart yesterday, the coaches would not be in this position. Of course, if we had great coaches, the team would play smarter. My brain hurts!
They do. Players are not remote fans and they always back their coaches. Hell, Curley Hallman's players were upset when we hired Dinardo and they complained to the AD that Dinardo wasn't acceptable! We're talking Curley Hallman of the 4-straight losing seasons fame, but his players supported him. Les has brought this team trophies and top-10 rankings. They are not going to turn on him. It would only ruin the season and the recruiting season and probably next season. I think they are practicing the 24-hour rule and blowing off some steam, so that they can get back to business on Monday without all this baggage.
EXACTLY! It sucks that it's a defensive player, when they're obviously the strength of the team, but at least SOMEONE is stepping up.
I take offense at that remark. I was 1st team All SEC in Debate. Was actually on the preseason watch list for the George Lucas Audio Video Trophy, a very prestigious award for which every student in the Audio Video Club dreams of winning. And besides, one time at band camp........
I agree. The mutiny talk etc is coming from our beloved negatiger contingent who are happiest when bitching and ignoring reality. Of course its a meeting where the teams leaders are going to have a heart to heart about responsibility and players letting themselves and the team down with the mistakes.
maybe they will tell Loston not to drop sure interceptions. Or tell lee not to waste our last timeout when there is absolutely no reason for it.
stacey, i agree 100% w3ith everything in your post. i'm done. i cant do it any more. by all accounts les is a good man. he runs a clean program and seems to be concerned that the players also be quality young men. as an alumna, those things are important to me because i want to have pride in the program for more than just winning. but at some point, the gaffs and meltdowns override the good. and that point was yesterday. when the ole miss debacle happened last year, i said that one of the things miles had to do to keep my support was to not let something that monumental happen again. well, it did. only dooley's errors won us the game. in the last two minutes both coaches kept trying to give the game away, and it just happens that dooley gave it away last. but the whole comedy of errors by our coaching staff was the last straw. i feel that crowton was to blame for some of the errors. the players also made a lot of them. but miles is the head coach, so just like i have given him credit for the good, the responsibility for the bad is also ultimately at his feet. add to that what was clearly his mental meltdown.... well, like i started out with, i'm done. im done with miles and crowton both. the players and the program i will always support. i will continue killing myself going back and forth to games. i will be there to cheer on the team because i love the tigers, win or lose. or even playing stinky. but i will no longer defend miles.
