Hopefully who can recruit someone?? See?? Doesn't matter. I think most of us are in agreement of at least one thing. Crow must go. I just happen to think he WILL. That said, I thought the same thing last year, so there is merit in what you say. We're all LSU fans and want the best for the program. If we all agreed on what that thing was, this would be a boring place.
I just finished reading all the posts in this thread and can't remember who said what, but it was pointed out that: -Miles is on thin ice with Alleva. -Last year Miles wanted to get rid of Crowton, but Alleva said no way because a buyout of Crowton's contract wouldn't happen even if the funds came from outside the university due to the financial climate. -Buyout money is in place. If Alleva is forcing a shotgun wedding between Miles and Crowton in order to more easily get rid of Miles, then Alleva's manipulation of the coaching situation is responsible for producing the offensive problems we have this year. Alleva is responsible for Crowton's continued presence on the coaching staff. Whoever said Alleva has to go first hit the nail on the head.
Personally I have always wondered how Alleva ever got hired based on what happened at his last school and the way he handled it.
What you said! I fear for our future if, hypothetically, we're searching for a new head coach and money (or the perception of said money in this economy) is an issue. That said, I'm redoing my kitchen and will be PMing you to ask annoying questions about 'pro' style residential ranges...just a warning.
Absolutely. Think back to 4 plays earlier. 4th and 14, JLee completes the pass and RUSHES down the field to hurry up and do another quick pass. Lee makes plenty of mistakes, but it's obvious he at least has clock awareness. I have no doubt that JLee in that same situation would have either clocked it or rushed a pass play.
I sort of understand people blaming Jefferson for not being aware enough to clock the ball after he was tackled, but he shouldn't get all the blame for that. It's not like anyone on the sideline was motioning for him to clock it when he looked over there. If that was the case, he obviously would've run up to the line and clocked it with 10 to 15 seconds remaining. Apparently, everyone on the sideline was too busy crapping the bed to even think about clocking it. Also, I'm not at all sold on this players only meeting being a good thing. It could bring about some unity, but these meetings are just as likely to create divisions within the team, too.
"Coach Crowton did," he said. "He was the play caller during that series. The calls he made in that drive (leading up to the touchdown) got us the victory. But at the back end, that has to be handled better, period. We used timeouts inappropriately (throughout the game in order to avoid delay penalties when the play clock was about to expire). We could have had timeouts on the board and moved comfortably at the end. There's work to do. I take blame, and rightfully so. It will be changed yet again." does that count?
