I doubt it, too. In fact, Les said that they had sent in two running plays, but changed the second play to a pass and sent it in with the lineup change. But . . . when they came in late and there was confusion, Jefferson should have clocked it before time ran out. We had another down. It wasn't hard to understand that the game was over when the clock ran out. Everybody in the north endzone was screaming 6...5...4...3...2... A quarterback doesn't need to be told this, it's his job.
I'm 41, and I have no idea who Col Klink is. I do know you like to use him in nearly every post referring to Miles, so I guess it's from some TV show you used to watch on one of the 3 channels you got in black and white...since Red seems to know who you're talking about.:hihi:
I agree, but at some point you have to let the kid know as a coach or suffer the shame yourself with him. If they KNOW he isnt capable of recognizing when to do this then they need to remind him or go down with him. I agree a good QB knows this but then again we ARE talking about a good QB. So you think Lee would have gotten it right? See here is where I think you people are so naive. I dont think LES or Crowton thought to say a thing to him or plan ahead. I think they shoot from the hip and take way too much for granted. They walk through the same practice each week not teaching these kids a thing. They practice on a problem AFTER it occurs. They are reactive coaches NOT Proactive TEACHERS. This is not to say that JJ would EVER get it right BUT there have just been far too many examples under Les for me to think he even has one ounce of planning as a coach imn him at all. His half time adjustment is " we're going to play our asses off" these arent cute lil remarks to the media, THIS IS HIS WHOLE PLAN. I have come to realize the man just cant maange a whole team.
we have more than 3 stations here in INDY. watch some of the old sitcoms like HOGANS HEROS or BEVERLY HILLIBILLIES ( Jethro ) on the Nick at night station I think it is? not sure but I catch it while channel surfing.
Well I was just jacking with you, but I really haven't ever watched Hogan's Heroes. I was OK with The Beverly Hillbillies, because I was in love with Ellie Mae. :hihi:
To your point about "we're going to play our asses off", Miles is very passionate and emotional. If you haven't figured that out yet, dunno what to tell you. It's why I've said before he needs to quit doing those impromptu interviews, or else he needs to come up with a scripted response like "No comment" as he's jogging off the field. Also, and this is just my opinion, I am convinced it was 100% Crowton's call to even have JJ in the game there. He wanted to run his damn option. To be fair, it was a good time to run it. But damnit, no better than Lee handing off to Ridley. Les needs to fire Crowton at the first opportunity he is allowed. You damn skippy. Most 8 year olds would've.
Klink played the commandant of stalog 13 in Hogan's heroes. A german POW camp. He was cluless to the fact that the entire prison camp could come and go as they pleased and in fact were undercover operatives for the allies, the whole time. As far as he knew he ran a tight ship everything under control.
Also, I believe Miles is, by nature, terrible in front of a mic/camera. But I think it is worse in situations like these because he has to make shi t up to cover for his dumbarse OC and the plays/personnel he called.
You seriously think that after Ole Miss the coaches didnt have a spike the ball if the clock is running out lesson? T-Bob was paying attention that day. Shouldnt really even have to have that lesson at this level. I would think in those awfully stressfull seconds the on the field leader has to make a call. Not saying coaches get a pass here. Have to have ability to adjust and make some basic decisions on your own.
