Fans will probably boo the coaching decision to put him in. Don't get that confused with booing the player.
I wouldn't get my hopes too high. A little increase in passion won't make up for the huge deficit in coaching and player development.
This is true...the pressure feels off. How will that reflect with the players? We've gone from dumpster fire to intriguing. Now...if the dumpster fire is still burning Saturday night (and it could be), that will be disappointing. But, still--we truly have nothing to lose. With our athletes, that's dangerous for other teams.
I hope you are being sarcastic? But I can't tell because I have heard that lame-assed excuse for booing since the days of JL and JJ.
It was the coaches being booed 90% of the time, though I find it distasteful as well. If he plays well, rock on! If not, stupid idea.
With all due respect, the players can't really tell the difference between the coaches and the players being booed. They are a team, after all. Annnnddddd...it was really obvious that the fans in the '08 Ole Miss game cheered when JL got injured. Annnnnddddd...it was really obvious in the '11 Arkansas game that JJ was booed (right before he ripped off a 50-yard TD run.) That has bothered me thougout the Miles era...booing "the coaches." Hopefully, the fanbase will like the next coach (because he isn't following Saban) and can support our WHOLE team for a change. That's been a shitty aspect of the past 11 years.
We shall see, but let's not forget, this LSU team started #5 and a lot of people picked them to win the SEC. They are scary talented. They have had an epic offseason with off the field issues in their community and Now their coach has been fired......light this bitch on fire fellas.
And you're probably one of those that just can't grasp the concept, no offense intended. Booing a coaches decision to put in a struggling player is in no way the same as booing the player. I've been in the stands to hear the comments that have accompanied many of the boos. Hearing the discussions immediately following the boos give a much clearer picture. Players are very very rarely boo'd in Tiger Stadium. Miles and his offense were often boo'd
