    wasn't their National team

    .....The team, from the small city of Chapeco, was in the middle of a fairy tale season. It joined Brazil's first division in 2014 for the first time since the 1970s and made it last week to the Copa Sudamericana finals.....
    .....Argentina's state-run news agency said the plane involved in the crash had transported.... the national team this month from Brazil to Colombia between World Cup qualifier matches.....

    Well, this may well l be insensitive, but it reminds me of one of my favorite jokes (not taking anything away from the very real tragedy of the plane crash:

    George W Bush is in the White House during the early days of Iraq War. They are having a cabinet meeting and an aide walks in whispers to the President who screams, Oh My God, and looses control. Finally he is able to tell the cabinet that he has been informed the two Brazilian soldiers had been killed in Baghdad last night. He continues railing and weeping. Finally SECDEF speaks up and says that while any loss of life is tragic, there have been worse days. Bush looks at SECDEF incredulously and screams, "Are you kidding, do you have any idea how many a brazilian is?"
