Franklin, Fickell, or Aranda. Kiffin has a lot of baggage, but who doesn't, I suppose.
Not sure Woodward would go with Tucker (not enough HC experience/not a big enough name).

My $$ is on a name we haven't discussed yet. That is sort of exciting and equally scary

That's why I'm throwing out the name Byron Leftwich. Offensive coordinator for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. His name is already rumbling around the NFL as a head coach. He's a great guy and I can see him being successful here. Also checks the minority box.

Why not bring in an NFL guy to a school that has NFL talent?

First 2 questions about NFL coaches? How does he feel about recruiting? And how successful can he be at recruiting? You can hire X and O's guys as coordinators. Head coaches need to be leaders, managers, and recruiters.

I agree those are legitimate questions, but given his success at the NFL level he should maybe be considered and at least contacted to see if he would even be interested in this kind of position. Living in Jacksonville I learned a lot about Byron when he was drafted in the 1st round by the Jags. He's a top notch human being and has proven himself at every level of football.

I like Napier, but I would hate to do that to the Ragin Cajuns. I think a lot of people would be disappointed if we don't get a bigger name than that.

Maybe I didn't phrase it correctly.. He's not really a "want" but I'd take him over someone like Kiffen, who is second to last just above Joe Biden... that put it in perspective?
