Haywood was a former assistant coach at LSU. His hire by Pitt was controversial from the start because of his win-loss record. He wasn't exactly enthusiastically received by the fans. Almost half of Pitt's 18-man recruiting class either decided to re-open their recruitment or de-committed and committed to another school. At his opening press conference he never once mentioned winning, only stating that his players disciplined, dress properly and attend class. His remarks were met with polite applause. His 2 1/2 week stint at Pitt is probably the shortest of any head coach in college football history.

Probably right up there with George O'Leary's stint at ND.

    Or Mike Price.....
