I'm aware of that... but if we lose to Arky it'll be consecutive weeks we lost a rivalry trophy... don't see it happening. But I agree with you on everything else.
Did this team give it up for good after the Bama game or will having JJ under center spark this team? I think they play for JJ after (rightfully) being VERY frustrated (and maybe giving up) because of JLee. Man, I hated for it to happen the way it did, Lee is a great kid, but damn what was Miles thinking? JJ looked really good in the plays that they had prepared for him. I think with a full game plan for JJ, LSU could throttle the hogs. Remember, our arch-nemesis Houston Nutt is not there anymore. We succumbed to him last week. I say LSU 31 - Ark 9. We keep them out of the endzone. I never make predictions, but what the hell, right?
Not too many predictions so far... Could LSU really lose to a 4-7 Arky team, an Arky team with no running game (their leading rusher is out), and an Arky team that will also be starting a redshirt freshman QB? I know we've had our problems, but I can't believe we could lose this game, unless we're mailing it in -- I don't believe CLM allows that to happen. CFN predicts Arky as a 23-20 winner -- I can't see that happening. LSU will be able to run wild, and JJ will have a good game. The D will have a decent game. LSU 28-10. :geauxtige
Well, technically we wouldn't be losing the trophy since they're currently in possesion of it. :yelwink2: Hopefully we can get through this game (and win that ugly boot back) and build momentum for the bowl game and for next season.
I don't dare make a prediction for this or any other game this season. I will be rooting for my tigers and hope they can win.
I think this is the first game in a while a team can not stack 9 on the line and dare us to throw it. I think Scott has a good game running it and when they come up to stop the run I think JJ will be able to throw to Toliver and LaFell. We should hang 30 or 40 on them. Question is which defense is going to show up. 32-21
Yeah, well that freshman QB threw for 333 yards and 3 TDs coming off the bench against a better defense than LSU. Miss St. is 3rd in pass defense, LSU is 11th. Here's how LSU and Arky compare: LSU Total Defense - #10 in SEC (320 avg allowed) Arky Total Defense - #12 (381 avg allowed) LSU Total offense - #4 Arky Total offense - #5 (only 7 yards less an avg) LSU Passing offense - #6 Arky Passing offense - #2 LSU Rush Offense - #4 Arky Rush offense - #11 LSU Pass defense - #11 Arky Pass defense - #10 LSU Rush Defense - #5 Arky Rush Defense - #12 LSU Pass efficiency - #7 Arky Pass efficiency - #5 LSU Kick Returns - #12 Arky Kick Returns - #6 LSU Punt Returns - #5 Arky Punt Returns - #11 LSU Kick off Coverage - #6 Arky Kick off Coverage - #12 LSU First Downs - #3 Arky First Downs - #4 LSU 3rd Down Conv - #7 Arky 3rd Down Conv - #5 LSU Penalties - #5 Arky Penalties - #7 LSU TOP - #6 Arky TOP - #7 LSU Red Zone Defense - #12 Arky Red Zone Defense - #9 (that bad red zone defense from last year, 11th, is STILL lingering) link LSU wins out in most of the categories, but they are pretty close in some respects. The way I see it, this game could pan out in three ways. -Low-scoring, special teams decides winner -Low-scoring, sloppy game -High-scoring, sloppy game Either way, I think it'll be uglier (penalties, blown assignments, etc) and closer than some think. Arky has no bowl, so this will be theirs. I also think this could be the first game in a while where a kick return (Arky) or a punt return (LSU) could be a back breaker. The only way I see LSU running away with this one is if the o-line decides to finally comeback from their vacation, and block for Charles Scott. Arky's run defense is last in the SEC, and LSU should try to exploit that.
