"Robert Allenby of Australia was arrested outside of a casino in Rock Island, Illinois early Saturday morning after missing the cut in the John Deere Classic, according to police department arrest reports. Allenby, 45, was arrested at about 2:30 a.m. outside Jumer's Casino and charged with disorderly conduct and criminal trespassing. His bond was set at $1,500, WQAD-TV reported. Allenby shot even-par 142 at TPC Deere Run and missed the cut by three strokes." I mean, he's from Australia. If he just said, "I'm a drunk who comes from a long line of parolees," would the world even notice?
Dude likes to party, no doubt.......most shocking part of the story to me is the John Deere Classic isn't played in some cornfield in Nebraska or Iowa.
It was played in Illinois. Have you ever been anywhere in Illinois other than Chicago. Other the the Windy City the whole state is one big cornfield.
I had a couple of encounters with Allenby while working The International @ Castle Pines for CBS in the '90s. I can relate from first hand experience that he's a first class jerk.
