Are you kidding me? Oahu is full of locals who just love to fuck over a wealthy haouli. The contempt is palpable particularly on a basically non-Hawaiian island like Oahu. I'm actually shocked that someone gave him enough money to get back to his hotel.
Yeah, I am very aware of native Hawaiian's contempt for haouli's. I lived there for 3 years, 1996-99. I originally thought this incident took place on the Big Island or Maui, as that is where these big golf tournaments usually are held, and they are much more receptive to tourists. Oahu is a very different island, although I never had anything too unusual happen to me when was there. The story just sounds odd and suspicious to me, but maybe his claim of being drugged is accurate - date rape drug used to kidnap?
The more I read and see on this story, the more skeptical I become of Allenby's version of what happened.
Yea. I'm thinking something bogus. Maybe he cheated or did something illegal and came up with this story.
