there was an article on ESPN insider, I believe it was, that said that he was leaning towards Pavin... I, personally, think it's a mistake, but who knows
Cink and Verplank are the 2 captains picks... I don't necessarily mind those two selections... they are both very steady players
Cink was a no-brainer. Initially I was a little surprised at the Verplank pick but after thinking about it and looking at what Tom had to choose from it makes sense to me. He's got experience on both the Presidents & Ryder Cup teams. He'll make a good partner in the alternate shot matches. Not long off the tee, but extremely accurate. A hell of a putter to boot.
I would have preferred Fred Funk, b/c of his passion, but he is a bit old, and playing 3-4 times in a week may be a bit much for him all-in-all, they've done well
