i would like to see peyton in denver. with a good defense they would be good immediately. peyton doesnt even give a damn if he has good receivers, he throws TD after TD anyways.
Is no one really going to mention Big Jim's Boobie Bungalow? Probably the most amusing name for a titty bar I've ever heard.
Broncos and Manning are very interested in each other... He got a high-profile welcome in Denver. According to The Denver Post, the Broncos sent a plane to pick up Manning in South Florida, where he has a condo. He had traveled there after an emotional news conference in Indianapolis on Wednesday, when he said goodbye to the team that drafted him No. 1 overall in 1998 and he led to the 2007 Super Bowl championship. The plane then stopped in Stillwater, Okla., where Broncos vice president of football operations and Hall of Fame quarterback John Elway, coach John Fox and general manager Brian Xanders were watching Oklahoma State's pro day. The Broncos management met up with Manning, and everyone flew back to Denver. ESPNews carried live coverage of the flight arriving at an airport in Denver, then also followed Manning's car ride to Broncos headquarters. And while Manning met with Elway & Co. inside the building, a blue helicopter hovered overhead. Manning spent nearly six hours at the Denver Broncos' facility on Friday
Kurt Warner thinks Miami is in the lead: Warner, now an analyst for the NFL Network, does not see the Cardinals as favorites in the Manning sweepstakes. "I think Miami still has the upper hand," he said. "I don't necessarily know why I think that. I just think since day one they've made it known 'We want him to be our guy and we'll do whatever we have to do to get him.' I think if you're a guy in that situation, at that stage of your career, that's what you want to hear. You want to go somewhere where they're saying 'We're going to roll out the red carpet. Whatever you need we're willing to make those moves, bring a receiver with you, sign you to whatever kind of deal you want.'"
Peyton has supposedly expressed a desire to remain in the AFC. If that's true, do you see Miami as the leading candidate with the Patriots, Jets, & Bills in their division, or the Broncos with the Raiders, Chiefs, & Chargers in theirs?
I thought I read that the Cardinals are now out of it. I though Wash and Miami all along. Now that Wash is out, I think still Miami and maybe Denver. Tebow is the greatest quarterback of our generation and his GM and Coach can't even see it. That should wake this thread up.
this is from article by LA Times sports writer posted one hour ago: according to ESPN 's Adam Schefter, Manning does not plan to meet with any other teams (besides Denver and Arizona) -- and that includes the Dolphins , who want him badly. My sources say Denver is in the lead, and they say that John Elway will do whatever he can to land him .... Arizona is very much in the mix, of course, because Manning would have All-Pro receiver Larry Fitzgerald and a roster with real potential, would be playing in a dome and living in a warm- weather city, and would be in what has been a very winnable division. ... But remember, these situations can change quickly and dramatically, and Manning could wind up going in a different direction. That's what happened when Brett Favre, who looked to be heading to Tampa Bay, chose the Jets instead. Or last year, when the Eagles surprisingly intercepted Nnamdi Asomugha . How quickly could the Manning decision come down? He'd like to make the choice as soon as possible, because with free agency starting (tomorrow) he wants the ability to help reshape a roster. Also, he's been in the same offensive system his entire career. He wants to get started ASAP getting to know the personnel around him, and getting comfortable with a new team (although he'll have a huge imprint on his new team's offense, wherever he goes.)
I think I was mistaking the Chiefs for the Cardinals. The chiefs are out of it. Should be interesting to see what happens.
