While I'd rather go with Peyton over Tebow if I were in Elway's shoes, this experiment better go well or Elway could face some serious backlash.

If Elway stayed the course with Tebow and it ultimately played out that Tebow wasn't a good QB, then Elway and the franchise simply move on.

If the Broncos get rid of Tebow and guarantee a large dollar amount to Peyton but his neck (or father time) gives out, how much would fans blame Elway? What if Tebow went on to some sort of success with another franchise?

a hobbled no neck Manning is still better than Tebow. They already have one of the best O Line's in the NFL, a solid running attack and good defense. Good move by Elway.

I'm waiting to see how the contract is structured and what the guaranteed money is. It will be interesting to see what Denver does with Tebow. I can't see him having any significant trade value.

good call. would you also prefer michael jordan over clarence ceasar? maybe take wayne gretzky over my retarded grandma? i like how you take one of the best players that ever lived over one of the worst to ever start in the league.

does elway want to win, or does he want to avoid backlash?

    if?

right. i dunno why a sane person would say this. why are you not saying the same thing about akili smith? why are you not clamoring for the return of jamarcus? pay attention, dude, tebow is not just bad. he is awful. he is historically bad. like literally he completes passes at a historically low rate. it is only though the force of his personality that he has a job.

lots. but the broncos must get rid of tebow. he is too dangerous. he can find his way onto the field and kill your team. you cant let this happen. you cant let the fans coach the team. the fans are morons.

i am drooping my head with disappointment in you. why would you think think this is remotely possible? again, tebow is objectively and factually terrible.

serious question. do you understand why a regular man on the street isnt drafted to play in the NFL? it has to do with talent. you dont say "well that guy might improve". when it is apparent that he is terrible, thats it, he is terrible, you dont just pretend he isnt over and over and over.

a retired parapalegic manning is beter than tebow. because at least the retired manning wouldnt get playing time based on christian fan fervor.

I find it a little surprising Manning ends up in Mile High. Guess Elway better spend some draft picks on pass catchers.

Wow, I was expecting a reply to my comment above from martin but he even surpassed my expectations.

I don't know much about the city of Denver but their fans had a huge movement to start Tebow. They even began to start some sort of friction between Elway and Tebow that led to Elway having to publicly announce that "Tebow isn't going anywhere."

Peyton was probably the only guy that could lead to the franchise getting rid of Tebow. As martin so eloquently rambled on and on and on above, it was a good decision. I think Elway never believed in Tebow and this became a convenient way to severe ties.

I will repeat again that it took some guts from Elway because there are apparently some crazy fans in Denver that will be talking about this decision years after the fact. I think Peyton is a top 5 QB of all-time but do not expect him to be a top 5 QB next year. The expectations for him are not fair going forward because they are based on his body of work.

Since we're talking football, I'd take Clarence Ceasar over Michael Jordan since I recall Ceasar playing some O-Line after his LSU career when he put on some lbs. Although I always thought Jordan could've been an elite WR in his prime.
