I just realized that Peyton leaving without shaking anyone's hand is very "Kiffen-esque"...You think there's a Tennessee connection there?

pretty funny because everyone i have heard on tv and on the radio said he was a classy guy, personally i can't stand the jack ass. If he wanted to buck the trend of his father and go somewhere other than Ole Miss, he should have gone to LSU, he would have been a damned hero.

I wouldn't have played for Curley Hallman either. Nor would I have wanted to play in my dad's shadow at a lower-tier SEC school (Eli played in one bowl game).

Also worth mentioning that Peyton DID become a college hero.

LSU thrives on guys from Texas, Florida and other such traitors whose fathers went somewhere else. Big deal.

i meant a hero in this state. and i don't care who was the coach at LSU, it could have been anyone, and wasn't it Dinardo? 1995?

Well he was a HS Senior in 1993, so recruited by Hallman.

I really don't understand the animosity towards the player who doesn't choose the school that everyone else wants for him. You have to go where you have the best chance to succeed, and more importantly, go where you want to go. I'd say things worked out pretty well for Peyton.

they did work out fine for him, and who knows maybe he hates LSU, but he didn't go to LSU, and he isn't a Saint, so screw him. I have never liked him, going back to his days at Tennessee, i think he is an attention whore, and he didn't even have enough class to congratulate Brees after the game, do you think Brees would have tucked his head and went into the locker room with seconds left in the game?

To me, and its just me personally, i can't speak for anyone else, it was equally as sweet to see a team from Louisiana, ruin the Manning's night, and a guy from Port Allen taking his bitch ass to the house on the pick.

Agreed. Speaking of the Port Allen guy, was he recruited by LSU?

    So....

...if the Saints go back-to-back, will Brees be considered one of the greatest of all-time?

i just never got the vibe that their 'care' for the state was genuine.

photo-ops and lip service be damned.

if you really care about a place, stay there and make a difference is the way I see it.

archie set their example I suppose.

payton and brees represent the other end of the spectrum and lead by actions. you know authenticity when you see it.
