how foolish of you to believe that title. 7-8 playoff record.. 22 TDs /17 INTs completion % 56 percent - (career avg 64%) in their 8 playoff losses, manning averaged 13 pts a game. in his lone superbowl run he threw 3 TDs and 7 INTs yet won the sb mvp. maybe best qb commercials of all-time?
I thought you were offering up a topic for discussion. If so, my take is....no, that title goes to Joe Montana, followed by Johnny U.
Manning is great. There's no denying that. However, he has 1 ring. So, for me, he is behind Montana, Elway and Brady as far as all-time greats go- that I've seen. :crystal::geaux::crystal::geaux::crystal:
But seriously Montana is the most overrated player of all-time. He might be as good as overrated Emmitt Smith.
Good to know I'm not the only one who thinks this. Manning may be the best regular season QB ever. He's fun to watch for sure. Best post season QB would have to go to Montana or Brady or maybe even Bradshaw. Elway wasn't much of anything in the post season before TD showed up.
Huh? http://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/M/MontJo01.htm http://espn.go.com/sportscentury/features/00016306.html You want to make a case for someone else as greatest QB, go for it. But overrated?
Overrated was generous. I was thinking average. My dogs nuts could have won two super bowls on his teams.
Yeah I posted some stats in the playoff thread in which I predicted the Colts one and done vs San Diego. So Tirk is right on with this one. Projected Best QBs of all time (Brady's career would have to be extended): 1) Montana 2) Brady 3) Manning
