back in 02 when he first started having elbow problems said he apologizes for having an error in judgement, or something to that effect meanwhile, the Clemens camp is vehemently denying everything
His name on any of the written checks in the report? 392 pages and I just dont spend that much time on the toilet.
Petite is full fo chit. So is Clemens. The HOF is the only reason Clemens is so loud about his denial. If he was really innocent he would sue to clear his name. Like thats gonna happen.
I could rant about baseball for hours but this is why the are falling behind and why this is such a big deal (obvious to most). The first interview ESPN did when Clemens was busted was with Tim Kurkjian. All they discusses was whether he would now be in the Hall of Fame. wtf. If these people cared about something other than stats the game wouldn't be so washed up in this controversy. Seriously, I doubt they will have a special celebration for LT when he gets into that elusive 15,000 yard club. :dis:
Here's the thing. Clemens can deny all he wants. He'll still be in the Hall of Fame. Why? Because this report is based off what somebody said. Granted, that somebody had direct involvement, BUT, there is no way to scientifically prove that Clemens used 'roids. So from there, it's based on public opinion. And frankly, I just don't think that people will care enough without actual proof.
Not sure about that 23. Look at McGwire. No proof with him either and the writers gave him less than 1/4 of the vote. Not sure he will ever get into the HOF. I think Clemens is in the same situation. After initially thinking this whole thing would amount to very little, its plainly obvious this report/story has far more impact then most people believed it would. Its pretty apparent that lots of people are caring right now. Of course it may blow over but this story is not going anywhere right now. The media is being fueled, for a change, by the fans reaction.
I still can't understand the McGwire snub. Yeah, he was using Andro, but at the time it was legal. The court of public opinion (and that of "expert" ESPN analysts) weighs too heavily in the sport these days.
23, I have to disagree with you totally The voters were loud and clear the year McGwire had a chance at the HOF. You need 75 percent of the voters to vote you in, and he had a meek 25 percent. It wasn't even close. And there is not even a hint of allegation that he ever took steroids, only the Andro you allude to, which was legal and allowed in MLB until they found out he was taking it. Now you have Clemens with a trainer claiming he administered the steroids himself. Unless Clemens sues and wins, Clemens is out of the HOF for the forseeable future.
