Paul petrino was part of a group of coaches that came to Jeff Long and told him they wanted to stay, but i think it all depends on where Bobby goes from here. the awesome thing is it was a fire with cause so no buyout. i respect jeff long a lot more now that he stuck with morales over victories.
Well g Well good ole Bobby burned his last NFL bridge with Atlanta. I think he just blackballed himself in division 1 football for the foreseeable future. His brother better learn to branch off and fly on his own.
I think Arkansas does not hire or retain Paul Petrino, personally. The PR there needs to be cleansed. Of the list above: Paul Petrino - No...too much collateral association. The university needs to move on. Butch Davis - No...too much baggage and he his most recent job ended in dismissal for NCAA rules violations. Skip Holtz - Interesting candidate. Has obvious Arkansas ties, but those things are overrated these days. Gus Malzahn - No...him leaving Arky State before coaching a single game would make Lane Kiffen look responsible and respectable. Garrick McGee - No...see above. He has not coached a down at UAB having taken the job in December. Tommy Tubberville - Maybe...but Tubbs might not fit the ethos the Arkansas AD wants or needs right now. Les Miles - Not a chance. Dream on. Some others: Dabo Swinney - Current Clemson head coach who could be a sleeper pick for some school. Mike Sherman - kind of shafted by Texas A&M...would allow Wilson and the offense to not skip much of a beat. Good man. Bill Callahan - Excellent recruiter and offensive oriented coach. His stint at Nebraska will be held against him, however. Tommy Bowden - 90-49 overall record as a Div I head coach. Took Clemson to a bowl game every year he was coach there. Bud Foster - Longtime DC at Virginia Tech who is on everyone's head coaching short list but stays at VT because he has not been offered the right opportunity. The Razorbacks could fit that description.
